Jeff Stelling had a detailed report on SSN (Internet) of the Bradford v Arsenal match.  He said that Alan Connell's penalty was "absolutely fantastic".   It was also the winning penalty.  Sir Alan also scored a penalty at Wigan in the previous round that helped Bradford have a glorious pay day.

Even more importantly, Sir Alan is clearly ahead of Ross Hannah in the strikers pecking order at Bradford! That is very good for us.

Adam Buckley seems to of played for a good few teams within the last few years.

Was it Lincoln he was at when he got caught for stealing team mates possession?

Ryan Bennett played 90 mins in a winning Norwich team.  He made one critical, goal-saving tackle.   My Chelsea mate said that he played well against Chelsea early in the season.

Not Town, but a "Grimsby born player", Duncan McKenzie had a large article about him in The Times football supplement last Mon.  He was a talented player who played for Leeds, Everton and Chelsea.  Never quite had the discipline or consistency to go with his skills and ability.  He never played for Town either.  He was something of a brainbox  as a well getting a stack of O levels.

He was more famous for non-football achievements.  The Times have a picture pf Duncan jumping a mini on the pitch.  It said that this was from a standing start, but I do not remember this even more impressive aspect of the jump.  He was not a big bloke and must have had a lot of strength, agility and flexibility. I think that he first did it for a bet.  What a party trick!

He also threw a golf ball more than the length of a football pitch.  Also for a bet I think and another incredible and unusual achievement.

Mention of our friends up the road also shows how far we have fallen in comparison.  Their ex striker Gary Hooper scored the goal for Celtic that got them to the knock-out stages of the Champions League.

Duncan was an amazingly skilful player but never quite understood the work ethic [he smoked like a chimney];which was a  shame because he was a naturally gifted athlete! I would say that he was on a par with Dimitar Berbatov in terms of skill although rather more mobile [when he felt like it!] During his time at Forest a leading Russian ballet company came to the city. Ticket sales were a little slow so they sent their leading male dancer down to the City Ground to see if he could outleap Duncan as a publicity gimmick. Of course he couldn't and there was a photo in the next day's Evening Post  of Duncan's 'winning leap'; head and shoulders above the crossbar!! After retiring he became a sub-postmaster on Merseyside, I think, and forged a lucrative career as an after-dinner speaker.
