Keep raising the opposition level to see how Trialist B copes.

Ladapo is ok thus far, and knows where the net is.

Would be good to find a new Connell or Amond.

Both had poor scoring records pre-Town !

Maybe hard to assess, but 3 clean sheets is a fair start as well !

Early days !

Ah, the old “Amond had a poor scoring record before we signed him” myth trotted out again. He’d scored 11 and 10 respectively, in his two prior seasons in the league above, playing out wide. If we signed someone now with a similar record in League One, in their mid-twenties, I’d be absolutely over the moon.

It’s fair comment where Connell is concerned; he was so unexpectedly class at that level, but I think the consensus was always that Amond looked a great signing from day one. Perhaps not a 30+ goal man, but a decent all the same.

Ladapo is young and probably won't command much in terms of wages. I haven't been at the game tonight to see how he played but that goal looked decent. There is a danger now that if we offer him another run out on Saturday against York that he decides to try his luck elsewhere.

Connell had quite a decent scoring record in League 2 and anyone who'd seen him play knew he was a good player.

It’s funny, because I can remember where I was when we announced we’d signed both Connell and Amond, and I’m pretty confident the knee-jerk reaction was particularly negative (to Connell). He’d scored 5 League Two goals in 2 seasons (despite not having played too many games in one of them), which wasn’t a particularly outstanding recent record.

Worth remembering though that he signed only a few weeks after our relegation shenanigans at Burton - the mood surrounding the club wasn’t good, and understandably so. But he wasn’t well received on the basis of his scoring record.

Ladapo and Fieldson had very good games imo. I would be signing them up…

Feel for Matt Dean, Artell seems hard work at times. He’s done well to get 10 minutes out of him there!
