Think it’s time to admit that the English players in the premiership are being looked after by the various foreigners in the teams. Neville and Ferdinand both saying that how England played today is basically what we’ve been doing for the last 30 years. The 3 Man City players were completely different to how they perform for their club, so maybe it’s down to coaching.

Not sure how Foden is looked after by a League 2 striker alongside him every week 🤔

We visibly retreated yet again, as we always do when we go 1-0 up in games, nobody can convince me that these players want to do that, they’re being told to do it by a manager who is incredibly 1 dimensional in his tactical approach.

He’s not shown anything to say he’ll change, so I fully expect the outcome to be the same once we face a decent side in the knockouts.

I’ve been saying this to a friends for a few years now. Dotted around the PL teams these players look different class . But once they have to play together their decision making is diluted to the point they look average.
85 mins gone . Pickford comes to take the free kick just inside his own half .. gets pressure from walker to play it short to him .. who then proceeds to launch it out for a goal kick . … there’s no way walker does that in a Man City shirt.

This was one tournament too many for Southgate. His tactical naivety is outweighing the good work of creating a better environment for the team to flourish

You see I can't believe that the instructions are that if we get ahead then we should sit that deep and invite the pressure that we do. It keeps flipping happening though doesn't it?! To be honest I didn't think we had any control before we scored tonight. We put together a very decent 35 minutes on Sunday but we were roughly 35 minutes short of that tonight.
