The disturbing thing is that even Scotland have played better than us in one of their games than we have in either of ours! Just goes to show how bad we've been.

That must have been a third game Scotland played which I wasn't watching. We dropped considerably but our first 35 minutes against Serbia was light years ahead of anything Scotland have produced.

It is not about where we are in the group.  This covers up a multitude of sins. It is about the poor team performances, and the potential to go further.

Denmark played well, making the most of their abilities.  But they are not the team of 2 or 4 years ago. They have had some poor results recently. We made them look like Real Madrid.

I thought our first 35 against Serbia was pretty poor, truth be told. Walking football, side to side, barely got in behind them. Possession, for possession's sake. I know we weren't really troubled too much and won the game, but it was uninspiring, to say the least. At least the Jocks gave it a real go against a more technically proficient Swiss team. We deserved negative points for the dross we witnessed last night.

It’s quite obvious that EUFA have instructed the refs to not blow every time someone falls over and to be very lenient in giving out cards, pity it does not continue into our domestic leagues.

These players aren’t brave enough or got the bollox to role their sleeves up and get stuck in . They’d rather girl private around tippy tapping it around getting no where then just lump it or make a pisspoor pass and lose possession .

Southgate gets a lot of flak for his team selection, tactics and rightly so. However our players play at the highest domestic levels in Europe and command wages in the hundreds of  thousands £ p/w. They are supposed to be the best that we can assemble to represent our country and yet several have shown  examples of how they can't even trap a ball or make a regular pass successfully. Yes, blame Southgate for the tactics and results but some of the players have let him down in their performances.

I know the feeling. I was in the Humber Marathon when in my prime. After 5 yards I was in the lead but after 35 mins I caught the bus to give the others a chance. The memory of those first 5 yards will always live with me because I live with the positive. Absolute shite wipes out the positive in that England game. Am i babbling-----?
