Great game of football this evening . The Polish referee is tge best in the world and contributed to 90 minutes of free flowing high energy football. A million miles from England in energy and entertainment.

In tonight's match VAR ruled out a Lukaku goal for offside by part of his body being literally a millimetre off even though he was 25 yards out and absolutely no advantage was gained by that millimetre.

How on earth have we got to the stage where great goals are ruled out by any part of the body is a fraction ahead of the defender? That is not in the spirit of the laws, is it?

Inevitable as soon as technology  was introduced . Black and white nothing in the offside rule about seeking an advantage . Perhaps one day we will AI deciding on more subjective criteria . Hopefully I will be dead by then  .

I watched France v Netherlands last night with great anticipation. France looked great the few times they moved it quickly, usually involving Kante, but didn't do it enough.

Been out all day today, turned the TV on just in time for kick off and really enjoyed that Belgium v Romania game.

Really enjoying euro 2024 (except England games) adds a bit more fun to it when you're in sweepstakes, fantasy leagues and a prediction league.

I’d expect Slovakia v Romania to be a dreadful game as both teams will know a draw will take them through due to Ukraine’s terrible GD. Neither side will want to risk losing incase Belgium v Ukraine ends as a draw.

But having said all that, I’m going 1-0 to Slovakia with a late goal.

I know it's if's  but's and maybe's but if it goes something like that we might scramble our way to another semi final again - we seem to  end up with favourable draws a lot of the time .
