Mansfield sign another striker Chris Beardsley

Though I don't go to see them Stevenage where he came from is about a 10 min walk from where I live and locally Beardsley is know as a decent player so it will be hard for Ollie to get in the side though from what I have been told Beardsley likes to play off a big target man, so who knows??

Ollie is still developing and would be a really good signing for us he bully's defenders and that is what you need at Conference level.

He'll sign for us. You see if he doesn't.

Let's not forget that Ollie hasn't really played regularly for some time. LJL got better as time went on and i think Palmer would benefit from being one of the main strikers playing regularly, rather than being down the pecking order as he is at the Stags. He has a good scoring record and looks like he works hard, so with a full pre-season and regular football, i think he would be a good asset and i think he will end up here for a nominal fee.

I don't know what to make of Palmer.difficult to give a opinion because I don't think he was ever fully fit. At times he looked Duffy like in his disinterest and yet things like his goal v Eastleigh were on a completely different scale.overall he seems v hot or cold player, which is a bit concerning.too many times he was anonymous, but then just for a moment he'd do something special and change the game.the jury is out for me

He wasn't anything like Duffy.

I think if we got Palmer he would have to be played with the same strike partner most weeks as he is still developing......... Experience and youth works for strikers as well as centre halves. The big problem is finding a consistently fit, motivated and experienced strike partner.......Though "in PH we trust" so who knows?

Read it carefully array.i am comparing him to Duffy in the way that both went missing for long periods and looked disinterested at times.the final was a total case in point.apart from the one on one chip he did v little and looked completely ineffective,in other games he's looked unstoppable. IMHO it's very finely balanced between the hot and cold, but as I said you have to make allowances for him not being fully fit and having to be nursed through training and games due to his injury

He'd be a great signing, good finisher and often in the right place in the box.

Eastleigh at home in the semi finals aside, he bottled every big game. If he'd cleared the ball instead of poncing around at Wembley we would be travelling to the bright lights of Accrington instead of Tranmere.

And if their goalkeeper had not handled the ball he probably would have scored and everyone would be looking at him differently. I say give the lad a chance I think he will come good at this level with constant games

Can't believe I read that. His fantastic performance against Barnet wasn't a big game then?

Palmer has a good future in football and has already done well for one so young. I for one would like to see him back.
