Has he signed for Orient?

If not, and assuming that we were in for him, why on earth would he choose Halifax over us?!

Think its just is he isn't he , will he won't he .  Let's just wait until Mr Hurst decides who he wants . Not long to go now before pre season and we can all start breathing  easier.

I've really got my fingers crossed that we sign him, I think he'll be an important player for us.  I still have doubts about JPP's fitness.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Promise a man someone else's fish and he votes Labour.

We all live in hope, won't be too fussed if he doesn't though.

I think one thing that is certain is that he won't be signing for Mansfield, that offer has been there for over a month and he's not going to sign it now is he?

So Mansfield made him an offer so they get a fee. So what happens if Palmer can't find a club who a willing/able to pay a fee, and does not want to sign for Mansfield again?

Think it should be a rule that if you sign for a team out of the league there is no fee.

I've been wondering this too. Mr Bosman was trapped in limbo without a club and so the rules all changed. However, this U23 rule was kept in place to protect clubs from losing youngsters. As far as I know this rule has never been tested fully but I am not sure how it could survive if it was challenged.

It would be interesting if one or two clubs offered him a deal, but declared they couldn't afford a fee, and Palmer refused to sign his contract at Mansfield. It's not exactly a heartbreaking tale to hear of a man forced to play professional football for someone but I'm not sure how legally you can force a person in to a job like that. (I'm not saying anything drastic like that will happen, I'm sure he'll either sign for Mansfield or another club will agree to a fee.)
