I would be very surprised if Neison signs for us and have had the same view since he signed for us on loan.

I am sure Luton can comfortably better any offer we make and as Pete posted above I think we thank him for his time with us and move on.

Similarly i expect Hannah to be a Town player early in January

Luton don't even have to make a better offer than us, if he's a Southern boy and dosn't want to move up here, then Luton will be a better option for him and not because of the money they offer. Is it worth breaking the bank for? I'd argue not, he's good but at the same time he knows he's good and so is sometimes too greedy.

Hannah is a much more important signing than Neilson, even if Neilson is a much better player, its about the team and what we need, not signing class players for the sake of it. Sweeney was in a different class when he could be arsed playing for us but it didn't make much difference to the team.

I'd love him to sign, but if he dosn't so be it, and if he goes to Luton then so what, Luton's problem is in defence not going forward, they ain't going to become more of a threat to us because they sign Neilson instead of us.

Think we all missing a trick here think Pond is the most important to sign as with him at the back with Shaun we can just about say we have at least 1 point before we kick a ball

Have followed Town for all my life during the ups and downs.

My son plays for school of excellence which is so well run without any funding and can see some future stars in the lower age teams.

In an ideal world we'd get all four for at least the rest of the season.

All the loanees have had an impact on our squad, pond and hannah are definately standouts for me and i would be happy if we could only sign two and it was those two. Marshall is just coming into his own and i think he's happy playing here, will he uproot and committ? I hope so. I've always had the feeling neilson was the hardest to read, saying that he could go to luton and be shite, wrong set up and formation, too many strikers wanting the glory or not playing to his strengths. I think thats a lot to do with how the loanees have settled quickly into a winning side, how our managers manage them and have continued to improve what happens on the field. They might not get that somewhere else.

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

I'm sure they'll get a good send off. They deserve it. It would have been very easy for them to come here and toss it off like many have in the past but they didn't. If we can get 2 out of the four that'll be great, 3 even better. Neilson does seem to be the one that will be harder to convince and to be fair I'm sure we'd all agree that moving from down there up north isn't going to be an easy decision but hopefully they come up with something.

I watched the interview with Hannah last night and you can tell that he genuinely wants to stay and sometimes things click when your at s different club simply because your getting games, different types of players that he may be easier to get on with, etc.  he didn't say one negative thing during his interview and I firmly believe we will get him permanently.  Neilson on the other hand has enjoyed his time here but I think it was always a loan move only with him and an opportunity for him put himself in the shop window for southern based clubs.  I can't see him coming here permanently and the interview just sounded like he was told what to say if that makes any sense.  I also think if Luton were to come in the move would suit him better but I don't think he will play anywhere near as good as he did for us, in fact I can see him getting sent off a few times for them.  There was no mentioned about Pond or Marshall on permanents but I guess that will probably be discussed more towards the end of their loans, I'm hoping they stay whether it be on loan till the end of the season.

I think those are the two most likely to sign. From what i've heard, we have a very tight knit squad and all the loanees love playing here. Hannah would sign today given the chance and barring the clubs failing a deal, he will be a Town player in Jan.

I also think Pond will stay if something can be agreed with his parent club. Neilson i think will return home and i think there is only Luton who can offer him more than we can at this level in terms of wages and club prospects.
