Just read someones letter on telegraph website saying we should be out of this tinpot cup to concentrate on league.  Are there people out there that actually want us to lose?  More games the merrier I say especially at home, were gonna have 3 months without GTFC footy soon lets enjoy everyone

Difficult one aint it really.
I want to beat York, but then we could get a backlash when we play them in the league, or vice versa.
Always good to keep the winning habit aswell.
F.ck knows, footballs a funny old game.

I'll be even more confident we can win the league fixture if we beat them in the FA Trophy.

If it goes to a replay there may be a case for changing personnel around but tbh don't think it'll happen, think we'll win.

Just got to keep the winning habit whilst trying to continually improve at the same time.

Bottom line play the youth team if you must but there's never a reason for anyone ever wanting to lose any game.

How can anyone say it effects the league? If professionals can't play 2 games in a week they shouldn't be professionals. I bet all the players are buzzing they've got 2 chances to go to Wembley, I bet 90% of them have never been on the turf at Wembley before. The only downside to it I see is if someone gets injured in a cup game, but thats the risk you take. Every little bit of money helps from each round we get through.

If people actually want us to lose then they have to be morons...we are capable of winning any game and Saturday is no different. We have to keep winning, consistency is key and this close to Wembley too...

Calling it a tinpot trophy sums up the person that made that comment...I assume they think the JPT is tinpot even though it got us to Wembley twice...any trophy that gets you a Wembley day is good. I don't see us winning the FA cup any time soon...

If losing on Saturday was a guarantee of reaching the play off final then I could see the point, but we haven't yet been in a play-off spot, so take every game as it comes,

Some players will get rested anyway so WIN! Please.

With £25 on doing the Wembley double at 28/1 I would venture to say I'd rather we won every game between now and the end of the season.

I did a poll on this for the Bath trophy game and the result was 100% that we should win.

Personally I wouldn't be making the trip to Gy if I didn't want a win. My only slight concern is the fixture backlog and falling behind on games played. We did it in '98 however, and this squad is strong enough to carry us through.

And the mantra our managers have brought with them. This is baring fruit now so let's keep the habit going. I cannot and will never understand the thinking of anyone wanting us to lose a game in a competition that will see us financially considerably better off if we get to the final.

Unbelievable Geoff...

We need to win IMO will keep the run going and keep momentum in the camp....why do we want them to lose when  we have got this far??

Win this and its the semis, tin pot cup or not its still a buzz and when we get back in to the  league which we will do we can say we was down there supported our club and won the flipping cup! we will never ever get the chance to win it again as we won't ever get into this tin pot shed of a league

Yup, go for it. Prize money increases with each victory and a two legged semi woudl also be a good money spinner. A Wembley trip would pull in some serious cash.

Want us to win, but won't lose alot of sleep if we did lose.

If I was offered one win and one loss over the two games with York, I'd take the loss in the trophy.

You only concentrate on the league when you are out of the cup. We are still in it so of course we want to win.

Not sure it's stricly true though.
Southampton made it clear they had their eyes firmly on promotion and like other teams tend to do, picked a weakened team for the FA Cup.
They were top of the Championship though, we're chasing success on 2 fronts.

Bold talk but just watch, if we do get beaten on Saturday this thread, or another similar one, will be full of 'it was only a tinpot little cup', 'thank fuk for that now we can concentrate on the league', 'it doesn't matter the playoffs are the main thing' and so on and so on
