I'm fine with keeping Clifton, as long as we accept he's a winger. His best spells have all come while playing on the left and his ability to get back and offer defensive cover is always useful. I think it's often overlooked too that he is one of the best dribblers in our team - he just happens to be like most wingers at this level, with poor end product.

Not enthused about Green at all. Will be disappointed if he's been promised anything more than being a squad player.

The club have a years option on Green’s contract. I highly doubt it’ll be new terms being discussed.

Can't read too much into it, but in Artells post Crawley interview he said about the retained lists etc, and also said meetings with the players on Monday and retained list either Monday , Tuesday or Wednesday. He also said a meeting with another player . . .

The meeting of other players is normal at this time of the year. In fact, I’d be worried if he weren’t.

I can't lie, i hope he does go I'm not going to cry bottom about it, be gutted if we lost Thompson for comparison.
I'll maintain if it wasn't for him being "one of our own" most people wouldn't be calling for him to get a new contract, he's NL level at best, and to progress we need more Thompsons and less Cliftons/Greens/Holohans.

It didn’t look particularly fun for many of them yesterday. A game with nothing to play for league wise but potentially contracts on the table, but also knowing there is about to be a massive squad clear out.

Think this is probably a crossroads moment of Clifton’s career, if the rumours are true then DA has offered him a contract however it could be that his agent is telling him to see what else is out there. Its a dilemma for him, under PH Harry was first on the team sheet, but I think next season under DA it will be different
