Average at best sums us up really.

Mediocre's a better word. Hopefully it will all come together sometime soon.

The team isn't rubbish by all means. If it was it would be rubbing shoulders with FGR et al within the bargain basement of teams in this division. Same old excuse, lets blame Fenty, Slade blah blah blah. It's getting beyond boring now. Too many fans keep churning the same old balderdash every week and are so fcukin negative to the extent it boils my pis$. We win some, we lose some and are a club in transition from the Conference.

I'm feeling similar, I don't think we are great at the moment but we have a few decent players and a couple of good prospects to come back. I think Russ will need to balance the squad though in January as it's a bit lop sided

We are actually a good illustration of why the transfer window should close before the season starts as we are a bit of a "last minute.com" side with players joining at the deadline and the side not geling until the late autumn, if it actually ever will. People moan about players on 2 year deals but this is partly why we have offered those terms.

In this league if a side can be mid table at Christmas they still have a chance so let's take a view then.

Personally though I would like to see the ball on the deck a bit more as when we get it down we've looked ok.

Now that was pants. No game plan, Macca was MOM. Summerfield the only player to pass along the deck.

We might be mediocre (rubbish) but over the 6 years in conference when did we play keep ball pass and move football? The players are league 2 level, in fact about 99% of the players in this league are, that's why their playing in this league. It's win some lose some, you just hope we win more than we lose.

They're league 2 players but even I can pass a ball and keep it on the deck and the highest I've ever played is the mid Devon and Exeter division 3..
This is not any sort of comment about the game, I've only seen the result just a reply to people who think players at league 2 level shouldn't or wouldn't know how to pass a ball on the floor.

Was this the same team that beat Accrington away.
That evening we were excellent again a league high flyer.
Don't know about the average fan, but when I play golf I have good days and bad. Maybe that just happens to GTFC players too?
The top teams get players who can be consistent. League 4 clubs get players who can be good, but do have off-days. Hopefully as we regain our position in the 92 clubs we can get better every year until we reach top half of League 1, which is what we can realistically expect.

Your point about Div 4 players is bang on, and that is reflected in many sides in this league not just GTFC.

Played golf at Ilkley on Monday, other than the rain was excellent, good course as was Normanton on Tuesday. Beats moaning about RS and our average players, nobody was more average than Rob Jones when he first played and he turned out ok. Lets hope some of the more recent signings do the same.

Watch England, how many games do we have more possession than the opposion, nearly every international team play more technically than us, and these players are on 100k a week, were not Barcelona, just be patient and our good times will come back(not saying it will be under Slade) it's swings and roundabouts.
