Gonna be a bumpy old season. Had us down for just above mid-table pre season, gonna be below that, let's hope by not too much. It's so drab I think I could easily drift away from this bunch and just take another look when Osborne and Asante are finally playing.

Sladeball is drab by nature. He's a more animated version of Hurst but i agree with you; around mid table unless we somehow manage to break the inconsistency.

As a poster put it earlier too many town fans are happy to except we are an average LG 2 club . Those of us that remember life pre 2003 would disagree

Normal service resumed, couple of half chances when we got the ball down and they stopped closing down our defenders. Goal happened exactly as I said to Son Of after 20 mins. Corner/freekick into 6 yard box, Macca rooted to his line or on the floor after another flap and Amond toe pokes in  from 3/4 yards with no one near him. Newport knew our weakness and played exactly how they needed to.

Lincoln were well-beaten today and had Knott sent off with a straight red.  They will not be full of confidence for next Sat.  For all their money they are only ahead of us on GD.

If we win next Sat then today will be largely forgotten.

This is a point that keeps getting put forward but i can't see what the fans can do about it. What happens if you don't accept it? We still have the same manager and players, so the only option is either go to the games or don't go to the games. If everyone stops going, the club dies.

We are truly crap this season, going to be a long boring old season this one.  Never seen a Town team so bossed by a Newport outfit.  Slade is proving to be useless, maybe Yeovil want him back .....................

It's like we're in some kind of 13 year time warp back to Slade's first season of his first spell. Crowds will go down because of a lack of entertainment, let's hope the budget for next season doesn't go down accordingly. I don't suppose Slade will be going anywhere after the way he was appointed.

No we're not. We aint that good admittedly, but i would say we are currently middling. I agree it will be a boring season though, as Slade is a boring manger in my opinion. Didn't like his brand of footy last time and nothing much has changed by the look of it.

Never won or scored at Newport so nothing has changed.
Brush ourselves down go again Tuesday night.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Agreed. As i've said, i'm not a fan but this suggestion that it's the fans at fault for accepting mediocrity is farcical. The fans can't do much about it and are about the best thing at the club.
