People who come and play for any football club are on short-term (relatively) contracts.... why do they need to live in the area full time?  Same applies for almost any club, I've worked as a contractor in many places over the years but have never felt the urge to take my kids out of their school, sell my house and move the famliy for the sake of an 18 month contract. Stop fetishizing the need to live in Grimsby in order to play football for the club.
