Kayoude seems to have a better goal record and more mobility than Taylor, and is 12 years younger. I think the theory there’s some interest has legs because how quiet rumours otherwise have been. I’m wondering if we can get him in in, if Kayoude and Orsi might be a decent partnership. Unfortunately I don’t think Taylor is the winning easy free kicks type of player. If anything he gets pulled from pillar to post and the refs do nothing about it. Sometimes I think he needs to bring a bit more nastiness into his game and also get in the refs ear a bit as he doesn’t seem to say a word most of the time and so refs at this level take the easy option and don’t give free kicks as they know they’re not going to get the hassle.

I don’t think hurst likes that kind of thing but I think as a team we can get the rough end of the stick from the refs as we are too nice compared to the opposition

Taylor is a very physical player if you watch him, he’s always trying to wind up the centre halves. He’s very clever in the way he uses his body to shield the ball. I’m not sure it’s a case of him getting pulled pillar to post, more that whenever the ball goes anywhere near him, ala Kevin Davies or Gary Jones, there’s always a foul of some description going on with the defender or him. Got hold of one another’s shirts, Taylor backing in, defended climbing all over Taylor, it just cancels out so the ref plays on
