I'm not one for long posts so, if that effort had gone in for us early second half instead of hitting the post it would have lifted the players and crowd even more and then who knows.

Fair play to Forest their finishing was awesome.

The Town players can be proud of themselves, I am.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

50 million worth of talent on that pitch and can you honestly say we were outclassed or outplayed? Not a chance

They were clinical, we wernt. We know what we’re missing

But effort, determination, never say die attitude, proud of the team and club

What a bunch of girl privates

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

They were 50 million quid better in the final third. We acquitted ourselves superbly, especially 2nd half, and several players had pretty good evenings, my MoM would be Bryn Morris.

First half they were much better and never got out of second gear.

2nd half we scared them abit, we came out much more confident and much more threatening. Unfortunately for us they had Koyoate CB who has played Premier League football a lot but we still made them worry. When he went off I genuinely felt we had a chance to get a goal and back into the game, but shortly after he went off they scored their one chance of the 2nd half and that’s what quality players do. I believe they had 3 shots on target the whole game and scored every one. Again I don’t know why it takes us till half time to get going but me for one am not disheartened by the result.

We gave it a right go against them. Kept a 20 million pound striker off the score sheet and could have nicked a goal.

3 points Saturday please.

He was good but efete gets it for me. He did great I’m the centre then when he went back on the right we seemed to come alive a little more.

Proud of the players, supporters and club to be honest.

First half I thought we looked a bit pensive, In the second half we played better and the games was in the right areas of the pitch for us, you could see that as in the 2nd half Cooper was urging them up the pitch.

All our lads did their best that’s all you can ask. It was also good to see a reasonable ref for a change.

A word for Amos & Cropper who aren’t playing every week but came in and did well.

Our midfield 3 were excellent. Bit of McAtee class would have made a difference. Good game from Harry as well.

Pleased to see Efete show his versatility but he and Waterfall got in a bit of a tangle on a couple of occasions, albeit understandable.

No point overanalysing it but the team gave a great account of themselves against much better opposition and the workout will do them good. It’s a shame to pick up injuries at CB and even the Forest fans can see that we’re lacking a striker - although Orsi making the bench is a positive. Fans superb as ever and we can still make a racket in that little ground when we want to.
