Just popped into here and saw a couple of posts regarding energy bills and solar panels and it has made me bring up my annoyance of how poorly this country is run and how they couldn't care less about the people in it.
We all know global warming is causing major issues.
One thing that really ticks me off is (I'm not sure if Grimsby have them) places like Taunton have their own electric scooters you can pay to use yet you cannot ride your own personal one? If the government really cared about closing mate change and fuel prices rising etc they'd look at initiatives like the electric scooter and 'drive' people to want to use transport like these instead of cars.
I do a 26 mile round journey to work each day and I'd even genuinely consider getting one to use for the nicer weathered days if they were made legal.
Theres so much more that really ticks me off about this world/country. Don't even get me started on trains!
Why they sold them off to private companies I'll never know. If they were government owned and prices dropped you'd find a hell of a lot nore people would come off the roads and use them. The amount of people that drive to the beaches when if the trains were reasonably priced would then jump on them. I looked at going to Newport on the train (80 minute drive from my house) £160 for me and my son! Petrol is going to be no more than £50. No brainer.

Unfortunately, that's what you get when you've had the Conservatives in power for the great majority of the past 50-odd years. They are idealogically opposed to having a properly-functioning social democratic state because they either think government is bad or, more cynically, realise that a properly-functioning government which provides the major services required by the populace reduces the opportunity for profit for the private sector. Most of our peers do the big infrastructure stuff better in general which is why most of Europe has public transport that works properly outside of the major cities. We don't even bother to get the public transport right in all the major cities!

Yes, New Labour did repair some of the damage done by Thatcher's Tory wreckers, but not enough and it will take decades to recover from what the Tories have done to the country since 2010.

Unfortunately, Starmer's Labour doesn't appear up to the task which is why I'm still hoping for a hung parliament at the next election and some proper electoral reform which would keep the ghastly Tories out of power for the foreseeable future.

Electric scooters (if they're the type I think you're on about) are currently really dangerous. Loads of head and facial injuries from them compared to bicycles mainly due to the lack of legislation around them.

You just need to scroll back a few pages to the threads from around the 2019 GE to see the kind of bitter, bigoted old bastårds and their selfish, spiteful views which have shaped this shíthole of a country into the dump it is today.

If anyone fancies boiling their own urine by seeking out some of those threads like i've just done, here's some helpful links:

Anyway good job Corbyn didn't get in and wreck the country, that would have been a right disaster!

Funny how the likes of Grim74 and Marinerz93 seem to have disappeared from this forum. Did one of them maybe become Humbercod?

The NHS is really teetering now, GP services are getting to the point of being totally inaccessible for quick appointments, I got really assertive with my practice to get a next-day slot but that was only with locum that had absolutely no clue on my chronic condition and the alternative was over 3 weeks wait to get my own GP. for a few years now I've managed my condition via google and medical textbooks and effectively tell the GPs what to do  -they don't have time to read notes beforehand or do any research on conditions themselves. I've got a biological science degree, someone who doesn't have that knowledge would get lost in the system, depressed and even suicidal because they would struggle to get even a diagnosis now. Ambulance response times have fallen off a cliff because they spend most of the time queueing at hospitals as they can't get the patient admitted.

Every which way you look this country is turning into a 3rd world shambles, NHS, Transport, Local Authorities, energy, water, access to housing, but at least our great British sausages are still getting into Northern Ireland instead of being blocked by the EU - that's what really matters...

I mean, I read through lots of those old threads that were posted and there is a ton of absolute tripe being spouted by all and sundry, and anyone who backed brexit and this government have objectively acted on lies and been  f***ed up the ar$e, and taken the rest of us down with the ship. There are scores of idiots opposing the view of experts who told us brexit and this collection of corrupt, incompetent, dishonest charlatans would wreck everything and all of that has turned out to be true. They have trashed this country.

Every day something else. Another scandal. Another f**kup. Everything is broken…..and what’s coming down the track? F***ing Liz Truss!!!! I’ve seen many a government and many a challenge, but this lot is, by a million miles the most disgustingly corrupt, immoral and destructive collection of utter cnuts we have ever been forced to endure. Right now, what are they doing to address the difficulties of the population.? Nothing! British people are honest. hard working, kind and fair, and we are governed by a collection of despotic’ lying narcissists, sociopaths and sycophants who gaslight this nation ever day.

Sums up my feelings exactly.

I knew they would be useless and I knew Brexit would be a complete disaster, but I'm gob smacked by how low we have sunk and how much worse they have been than I ever imagined.

The sad thing is that they don't even give a fook. Sink or swim folks.

Brexit was/is a complete shitshow, a pack of lies cobbled together to appeal to a kaleidoscope of mutton heads either too loyal, too stupid or too right wing. Played straight into the hands of Putin’s mates who funded it.

Subsequently, it’s been swept under the carpet by Covid and now Ukraine, somewhat conveniently.

And now Liz Truss? Thick Lizzie, the Poundland Thatcher who’s been Lib Dem and Tory, Leave & Remain and who’s Dad is an emeritus professor in Socialism. Only in Britain.

I was in A&E last Thursday got there about 11pm to find about 15-20 people waiting, when I finally got to see the triage nurse after midnight just before insisting a young lad (who was vomiting everywhere) went before me, I was told there would be at least a 4 hour wait to see a doctor! Absolute shambles this organisation I decided to go home and hope for the best. There is absolutely nobody that could convince me the NHS could be saved.

Margaret Thatcher saved thousands of lives by shutting coal pits and turning to gas. Dash for Gas the Labour Party jeered, but she proved them wrong.
Coal killed people mining it, either outrright, or slowly with lung diseases, and then killed the rest of us when burnt. Oh and it added enormously to climate change. Did you know that?
Labour bankrupted this country by selling off most (56%) of the  UKGold Reserves in 1999  at the lowest historic price ever, and also lowered the price by 10% by doing it. Real smart.
Labour started a war on a lie invading Iraq which cost £8.5 Billion (double that at todays price) War in Afghanistan £20.5 Billion and of course British armed forces deaths with how many Iraqui Afganistani deaths??
So check your facts before opening mouth.

Anybody seen Tory Boy, the docu-film on Amazon?  iirc the  MP he was running against had been the local MP for 7 consecutive terms but lived 3 weeks a month on london and 1 week in paris, employed his wife as his office manager and his son as a research assistant at an office that didn't exist and hadn't held a surgery for 15 years....yet still kept being voted in out of blind loyalty by the locals.

When I hear that the leadership options for PM are either Sunak or Truss and I can't get off this train before it crashes, I keep thinking this is one of those day-dreams you get after too many beers and a dodgy curry rather than reality

You're a cretin. I could go into further depth, but I'm on holiday and don't think there is really any need to waste the time. The fact that you mentioned the sell off of the useless bullion as some sort of a loss was the giveaway. Selling the gold for 6.5 billion has bankrupted the country? QE has created nearly £900 billion of debt since then. Not that most of it is really debt as the government owes the money to itself, but that's probably a bit too difficult for you to understand.

One person puts forward a view, the other calls names. Usual Leftie "threats" and name calling. Thats why the Labour Party is wallawing in Anti Semetism, can't work out what a woman is, and following long dumped economic systems. Nice.
Selling of useless bullion eh, how well you understand economics. Sell me your house at a loss and see if your happy.
Enjoy your holiday paid for by a capatilist system, as you stand in the que at the airport, its better than standing in a bread que, eh comrade?

I think if you care to read the Holy Bible, or any history books on the subject, you will find Jesus was not a conservative. He was none political.

You obviously have not read my posts otherwise you would already know the answers to your comments.

In the words of Jesus 'Peace to you and your family'. Chill out.

I'm not sure if I can chill out as I'm gonna listen to Town V Carisle. Stressful I'm afraid.

I know I have the better arguement when all you have is profanities.

I'd had a few beers last night when I made that post and woke with a slight feeling of concern that I'd overreacted. However, I'm pleased to see that my post was entirely reasonable and your following messages have only reinforced the fact. I would apologise for those sweary words I used, but it's easier to simply add you to my block list. I think that's just you and Humbo on my block list, at present. I have a feeling I blocked Grim74 before he was booted off the site for overtly racist posts, so it's probably just the two of you on there for now.

A shame, as I think I read a reasonable post from you on the footy board earlier, but I can't be wasting my time with your other nonsense.

Welcome Grimpol to this not so tolerant left wing echo chamber, also commonly known as the Fishy non football forum.
You will not find a more anti-democratic bitter bunch of self righteous man baby’s, enough reason to keep me posting anyway😂

Some do’s and don’t for you to adhere to or not!

Conservatism, Capitalism, Christian values, tradition, Christianity, traditional family values, aspiration, meritocracy and of course Brexit will not be reasoned with in any way.

Criticism of the EU, Woke, illegal migrants, Pakistani paedophile rape gangs, Labour Party, Socialism, Corbyn, Islam, Antifa, BLM, political correctness, diversity quota’s, climate alarmists, covid nazi’s, big Pharma, WEF, Biden, Harris, Trudueo, and Mr Ed will all be deemed hate speech.

Failure to comply and Zay Vil attack.

It's not their fault. Several studies have suggested that right wingers are dumber than left wingers and feel safer on the right.

https://exploringyourmind.com/left-wing-people-smarter/

On the other hand, right wingers are said to be better looking than left wingers, but Humbercod would have to be fooking gawjus to be better looking than me.

If and when I ever live in a society that’s administered for the good of all people then I’ll attach with the party that creates it.  I’m 60 and sadly it hasn’t happened in my lifetime.  What I won’t do is to always vote conservative because my father did, or vote labour because until recently, Grimsby has always returned a labour MP.  Parliamentary debate is little more than trashing what the other party’s are doing when they should be putting forward clear policy and intent, that seems to overflow into tribal abuse on boards such as this.  Politics in this country are rotten to the core which is sad.

I don't know how but I've managed to get train tickets from Taunton to Newport for £45 for me and my lad.. admittedly it's probably still more expensive than to drive but much cheaper than first thought.

You're right and it's the current government who have made it thus. They use their mates in the media to destroy anyone and anything that threatens their grip on the political landscape and what is actually the sad part, is that the voters fall for it hook line and sinker.

The very people that keep voting in these charlatans are now the ones bleating the loudest at the state of the nation.

Look at how they destroyed Corbyn because he represented a real threat to the establishment and didn't sink to their gutter sniping levels. He didn't stand a chance despite being head and shoulders above the rabble we have in charge now.

https://www.jewishvoiceforlabour.org.uk/article/the-killing-of-jeremy-corbyn/

And I still can't believe that Liz Truss is going to be our PM. How the fook did we sink this low?

Atlee lost the 1951 election and it's been downhill ever since.

A few years later in July 1957, Prime Minister Harold Macmillan famously declared: “Most of our people have never had it so good.”

I was born a few months before he came up with that slogan, so I probably have to agree, it's literally been downhill ever since .....
