Grimsby Town FC’s Elliott Whitehouse has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3.

It is alleged that the midfielder used abusive and/or insulting words, which are contrary to FA Rule E3(1), towards a Northampton Town FC player during the 72nd minute of an EFL League Two fixture on 23 November 2019. It is further alleged that the words constitute an “aggravated breach”, which is defined in FA Rule E3(2), as they included a reference to race and/or ethnic origin and/or nationality.

Elliott Whitehouse has until 4 May 2020 to provide a response.

No further comment will be made regarding the matter at this time.

No idea what's gone on (and I wouldn't like to speculate), but I'm guessing he'll be getting a lengthy-ish ban (I can't remember an FA charge ever ending up as 'not guilty'?)

Both the same ethinisity, race and nationality. So I am confused.

It's getting a joke now did he really say something so bad and outrageous it hurt and was clearly a barbed racist remark to the person involved??  It's all one way can anyone honestly say it's only ever one way just white versus every other colour and ethnicity because that just doesn't add up can't only ever be 100% one way.  Paul Elliott got sacked from his fa ethnicity role for calling Richard rufas the n word and in his defence it was ok for black on black to say it. Whole system a joke sorry

This is what I don't understand either. In the case of the Leeds goalkeeper who was banned fairly recently, the incident was in a game on September 28 and the charge was publicised in early November. I'm not suggesting that things haven't been done properly for one moment, because I have no reason to do so. It just seems odd to me that a charge relating to an incident on November 23 has only become public knowledge at 5pm today.
