Happy with this. In a back 4 with a winger in front of him he can still be great for us IMO, I think he will be a squad player for us but capable of coming in and doing a job when needed

Hmmm. Not a signing I'd have made. Decent back up in case of injury or suspension, I suppose, just as long as he's not too expensive.

Experience will be vital IMO
Slade won't allow him to be exposed like he was a few times under MB
Gets a hard working winger in front of him and BD will be fine

Class player at this level

From what I saw of him he was very fit for a 35 year old and certainly had more quality on the ball and was a better footballer that Mills. Got exposed in the wing back as you'd expect though.

Still a class act at this level. Bignot completely exposed him when he played him wing back, together with injury and Zak Mills' good form it was a frustrating season for him. But playing in a structured set up he'll be an asset, vastly experienced and got a great set piece on him too. Based on no knowledge whatsoever I'd imagine he was maybe offered reduced terms, so a good move all round.

I'm content with this, he's an experienced solid enough pro, still technically good and given space he can deliver a cracking cross, I'm happy with him here for another year.

I think in the right formation he can still play a decent game, RB really seems like his position and when played elsewhere has looked exposed since he's lacking in pace. With a winger in front of him though he did well in those games, can cross the ball well and is a decent reader of the game just tidying things up at the back and getting the defence out of trouble. If he can be used right and he stays injury free I think he'll do fine.

I guess some would argue he's not worth offering a new deal and maybe we could find better but we'll just see how it goes.

After the loss of Pearson and the inevitable loss of Andrew, it is good to see someone wanting to accept the new contract and remain following last season. Not likely to be a starter over Mills but a good renweal nonetheless. Looking forward to seeing what this "busy week" will potentially bring.

I guess if he had have left we would have been hard pressed to find a better back up for Mills, so happy to go with this. Actually I don't have any option Slade calls the shots. Good to keep a bit of experience about the place.

If he is going to be used as a back-up and mentor to Mills then fair enough but if he is the basis for a defence that is going to challenge for promotion then I am a little concerned.

In that last game against Plymouth he was outstanding . As a right back he can walk it at this level. Just don't make him play wing back . Even sat in front of the back 4 would be a good position

Ne wasn't a wing back for his terrible performances at the Barnet game (and was awful playing as right midfielder at Cheltenham) will have to see what he does next season but hope Mills stays fit and we have a couple of right wingers available.

Good solid signing of a good solid experienced pro. The type of player that every team needs 2 or 3 of.

Good news this.thats right back sorted and central midfield for me. Davies has excellent experience, and will provide great competition for mills. Davies looked great against Plymouth and I agree that in a flat back 4 he's decent. Badly exposed under bignots 'plan' and injurys didn't help. Could be used off the bench in the middle of the park to calm things down a little so good flexibility Also.

Solid squad player don't see him getting a lot of full games though lack of pace may find him out.

I wouldn't have been that fussed if he'd been released but equally, I don't mind us giving him another year.

He's played at quite a high level and his experience and professionalism will be good to have around the place, especially for the sake of the youngsters.

And Zak Mills could learn a lot from the quality of Davies' final ball and delivery into the box, which is the weakest part of Mills' game I'd say.

Glad he's re-signed ,  he were doing ok before his injury and I don't think he were too pleased with MB and the lack of game time don't help.  Slade obviously wants him in the squad , let's hope he makes a few more new signings,we need a good hit mzn up front a good hard midfielder that can fight for the ball and  a good centre back or two depending who's staying or going.as for a keeper think we need anothe. Think Slade will be looking for  a good young one from a higher division

Was our most consistent performer before his injury. I suspect Chambers protected him well. He looked very good at Mansfield and Luton and at home to Morecambe.

Bignot exposed him horribly when he played at wing back, he's certainly a better footballer than Mills with a better delivery who with an athletic and hard working winger in front oh him would be very capable.
