It's a gamble absolutely worth taking IMO. Like others have said, sladey wouldn't of signed if he didn't think he could be an asset. He has seen him first hand in the reserves and a number of training sessions. If it is true that Huddersfield wanted to sign him before he got injured then he must have something about him!

In any case I think we will certainly sign another left winger (sam Kelly heavily linked) so we would probably just use tombola/Kelly on the wings as these are more proven at league level, however if Rhys browne and siriki can prove their worth then it could be very good news. Potentially 4 good wingers all fighting for them 2 wide berths.

I'd question that part. Bolarinwa is certainly not "proven at league level". He may have made 30-odd appearances (a lot as sub), but I don't think he's proven himself at this level by a long long way yet.

I think I said 'more proven' . Tombola isn't proven I agree, but a full season and 30 appearances would make him 'more proven' than browne/dembele who have failed to make a single league appearance between them. Sam Kelly has plenty of league experience. We also know what tombola offers

How do you know that? Have you seen him play regularly? If other fans think he's useless that isn't enough evidence for me.

I live among Port Fale fans, its my local team, not one has ever had anything really positive to say about him and yes I've seen him play he cant beat a man does not have great pace and woeful at crossing. Tombola is 5 times the player.

So, if I'm reading the last few pages of this thread correctly, some people think this kid won't be any good because he's not played professionally before now? Are these the same ones that think Rose won't be any good because he signed from Newport, or perhaps Nolan wouldn't be any good because Lincoln didn't want him? Oh, and Clay would be rubbish because Halifax didn't want him etc etc.

I personally always thought that Barry Hayles was a rubbish striker because he didn't make his League debut until the age of 25. Yeah, I know he scored plenty of goals and played loads of games in the Premier League but deep down, he must have been pretty rubbish to have been so old when he first played League football...

There is a point in every footballers life when they haven't played professionally yet. Even a lot of professionals at teams like Arsenal and Chelsea etc have never seen a first team game in years.
