Everybody has to start somewhere, I suppose. Even if they've only previously worked on smaller projects, if they are competent and know what they are doing, there is no reason they can't succeed with this project as well.

You could perhaps see us as a test case for their business - if they can make a success of this development in a small, impoverished northern town, it would look very good on their company CV and would attract bigger clients. I wouldn't imagine there are exactly many quick bucks to be made in N.E. Lincolnshire so hopefully they are in it for the long haul and with a good plan.

Bloody hell you type faster than me I have reposted more or less the same thing

I'm not voting for the Libdem councillors in the next local election.

They have no experience of being councillors so I will vote to keep the experienced councillors in office.

Just applying their own rules.

Sime I have waited since 1988 when it was very first mooted about moving for a new stadium we have never been this close I can almost see it.The blueprint on how to build them is fairly simple stuff these days and I can`t see why Extreme would have any difficulty in getting the right people in.The most difficult task will be to bring the job in on budget and on time Extreme need to manage that. This is a great opportunity for them and they appear to be a modern company with a can do attitude to things if they get this right the World becomes their Oyster so to speak for stadium builds. In essence they did what no-one else could deliver in 30 years a new build stadium in Grimsby.

Your right mate the absolute key to any project is to get the right people (individuals & companies) involved, do that and the rest tends to look after itself.

Though personally I don't think they have been visible enough at local level especially with all the Nimby & council stuff but I am sure they would have been doing what they can behind the scenes which maybe their style rather than "mouthing off" about what they are going to do.

Like many things associated to this I think everybody needs to let the stake holders get on with it and see what they deliver.

fans are dubious a company heavily involved in the build of our new stadium and other infastructure projects appear to have no real experience in the said field, it's a genuine concern imo.  Now I'm not saying this is the case here but I've dealt with loads of marketing types down in that big smoke and everyone to a man was a bullshitter of some sorts.

I agree with you dfp.  The company might see us as a loss-leader to get into managing football builds..  We then get a new stadium etc at a  lower price, as they have limited expertise, whilst they make all their mistakes on our project.

Extreme won't be building anything. They will be the landlords. Other building firms will do the designing and building.

Extreme will sell the houses through estate agencies and run the ice rink.

Town will rent the land and be responsible for designing and building tthe stadium through architects and builders of their own.

We pay a peppercorn rent on a 99 year lease.

The beauty of this scheme is we don't  have to buy the land as we would have done at Great Coates.

To get the money to fund it they will have to convinced the banks that it is viable. They will not lend money without proper checks into the viability of the whole scheme.

With mr.f. Well known for wanting value for money I wonder if digging the footings of the new stadium will be incorporated into pre season training

I think the OP makes a fair point. It's alright to say that Extreme will get the right people in but they have already appointed an architect, FDG, with no stadium design experience. What next?
I want to see the stadium built but I think the attitude of "it's been 30.years, let them get on with it" is a dangerous one. Extreme are in this to maximise their profit-nothing wrong with that. However, it's up to us via the club and the trust to ensure that we get what we want too, a great stadium for the next 100 years.

I hope the stadium has a massive ramp at either end and some sick graffiti in the bogs.
