not enough decent real ale places round here really, most you'll get is a couple of taps on in places
went to b'mouth away last season and was in a place called the goat that had about 15 pumps with real ales and a westons cider on

The Goat and Tricycle in Bournemouth is a fantastic place, Wadsworth Brewery Pub, has all their cask beers on plus about 4 guests.  I was in there on the Friday and Saturday of the Bournemouth weekend, booked a hotel that I knew was close by.

As for Grimsby and Cleethorpes, you are right, very little choice for such a big area, just shows you most people around NE Lincs will drink anything as long as it gets them pis-sed.

BH.

With a peccadillo like mine, you wouldn't want to meet me.

Watching THE TOWN sober isn't an option!

cant go out ie. meggies or popular places in town and expect to find good ales - have to go to the locals and stuff really that are more sparse
when im out im forced into drinking carling, strongbow, ie the kind of the stuff they serve at the imp on match day

Number 2 refreshment rooms on Meggies station for me or a few pints in the Notts, like posted above Gy and Clee are crap for real ale with only a few outlets in each who serve a good pint.

The out of town pubs seem to have more in the way of well kept real ale.

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play.
It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfullness,
disregard of all rules and a sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence;
In other words it is war without the shooting.

I love the back room of the Notts, like stepping back in time, not a huge fan of Tetley's, but the pub is lovely if you're into flat caps and mild!

Still never been in No2 yet, will rectify on my next visit.

The Notts also does guest ales now  one of which is often Fullers London Pride, the Number 2's choice is also decent with at least 5 real ales including a mild and always kept well, well worth a visit and only a fifteen minute walk down to the ground along the seafront.

This weekend there's a rail ale festival on at Cleethorpes light railway .........all beers have some sort of connection to railways.

im at uni in notts and its awesome for ale there - CAMRA do this beer by tram thing - get on a tram stop at all 16 stops and go to the pubs not 5 mins walk from the stations and have a different ale in each
when im back here id rather just buy bottles of hopping hare and golden glory (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)- basically just a load of hall and woodhouse ales or ringwood cos im a posh southerner like that and get trashed on those at home then when im at the imp i can just drink whatever without really caring

You might end up "going off the rails"

I'll get my coat

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

used to drink the fizzy stuff but i have graduated onto proper ale and i will drink anywhere with timmy taylors on. If you are ever stuck for a good pub in leeds look no further than the scarborough taps directly opposite the train station, they always have landlord on and a selection of different ales every week.
