They must have had a significant uptick in attendances this season then for some reason as they usually average around 5000 or less most seasons.
Well they did get to the play-off final last season and their away support is pretty good too. I suppose that, similar to us, the promise of something better than mediocrity gets more fans in. They were getting good numbers in during the latter stages of last season. I actually saw them at Donny in the FA Cup last season and have to reluctantly say I was impressed with their numbers (I know its nearby but even so) and the racket they made.

The owners also seem to have put a fair amount of cash into the squad as well, increasing the optimism amongst the fans, who now seem (on the League 2 Forum at least) to be getting a bit restless with Nigel Clough. Forest are completely sold out every game so if you want your fix of football in Nottinghamshire, then maybe Mansfield is an acceptable alternative, as the big Forest rivalry is Derby, and the big rivalry for Mansfield seems to be Notts and Chesterfield rather than Forest.

We were very popular over there last season after beating Chesterfield and Clownty (as they call them). They are definitely their main rivals. Which reminds me, my friends owe me more than a few drinks.

If we do make it into L1 the number of away supporters at BP would presumably increase, putting further pressure on available capacity.
I think the new owners should at least come forward with some indication of a preferred long term strategy. It may well be that we could face £350k bills or more every year to keep some parts of BP open.

True - the 350k bill brings the total spend on maintaining BP to 650k (minimum) so far under our current primary funders tenure ,as in year one there was a 300k spend (Jason stated this in an earlier interview ) and now the 350k ; it wouldnt suprise me if the actual is over 1mil already on their watch, just to keep our manor operational . I suppose what needs to be established is whether these are just one offs due to the previous lack of care to the building ,or are going to be reoccuring costs like you say .

Even a brand new stadium would require a yearly 6 figure sum to keep on top of maintenance; £350k is not an extravagant figure if you factor in that the main stand has had sweet fa spent on it for 20 years

Exactly. I was just about to post the same. It is surprising that the figure isn't higher really, but maintenance of any stadium new or old is a very costly business if you do it properly. Some relatively new stadia already look tired if there isn't the money to keep on top of things. I can't help but being a bit disappointed that there hasn't been a more exciting plan yet announced about Blundell Park other than being surprised at maintenance costs. You would have thought the future of the stadium would have been foremost in their minds.

Has it ever been said if there is an actual long term plan regarding BP, I understand it’s all about where we are in the league structure but surely our owners with their business heads on will have either or both a 5 year and 10 year plan dependent on success or not. Basically it’s no good waiting until we reach the championship, maybe wishful thinking, before starting a rebuild or new ground project as by the time it’s completed we could be back in league 2 as we all know football is cyclical.
