They've got money to spend from the sale of Tshimanga, also well backed by benefactors too I believe.

Chesterfield is right on the M1 and half the travelling time from Birmimgham (if that's where Dallas lives).

Not strange at all I don't think.  He didn't want to come here, fine.  We'll use our money in the summer to get someone who does.

I don't think it's strange he didn't sign for us at all however I think it's incredibly strange that a forward with his record, at his age, out of contract couldn't have found himself in L1 or the top end of L2.

Find it bizarre myself as Chesterfield most out of form team going into playoffs. Think if he held out till summer could of easily moved to one of the top L2 clubs.

So much for reports of the league one club he was supposedly hanging on for. Oh well, his loss, we move on!

Loan deal until the end of the season, apparently. After which he will remain a free agent.

Solihull are 11 points short of the play-offs with 12 games to play. Seems they have given up.

Thats suit Dallas perfectly, he will get himself in the shop window for a lucrative deal in the summer and gives Chesterfield more firepower going into the Play-offs. It's a bit like Emmanuel with us but for different reasons behind the deal.

Last Saturday was the first time Chesterfield won out of their last 10 games. They have moved from promotion contenders to middling playoffs so unless it's money I can't see any reason for Dallas to move there.

It shows little ambition on his part apart from wanting to be a big fish in the NL. Moving to an EFL side would show intent on his part to enhance his game. Still, we'll see where he is in the summer NL or EFL.

I think with the cup money and publicity, we should strive to keep Emmanuel (albeit unlikely). I think the bones of this team are excellent and targeting layers like Dallas etc, with the extra money and appeal we could make a good push next year

That’s my hope anywau

Hopefully we're not back in for Dallas in the summer, he's turned us down twice now so his heart won't be in Grimsby.
I'd hope with the increased budget we'll be after better players than Dallas.

Without knowing all the details, I’ll stick my neck out here and say he’s called this badly. I reckon they’ll struggle to get promoted - he might do ok but he might get injured and he’ll be playing NL next season in all likelihood.
Could’ve come to a big, well supported EFL club a few weeks ago, got involved in a big cup run, a play off campaign next season and improved himself. Still gonna be playing Dorking and Eastleigh and Maidenhead for the foreseeable.

It sounds like potentially it is just a loan until the end of the season and then he’s free to look at other options.

You’d imagine a pay rise for him in the short term, Solihull have been reimbursed and Chesterfield are getting a proven striker to replace Tshimanga for the rest of the season.

Makes it slightly less odd on the face of it.

Gamble for an EFL club. Decent at NL level. Might not be as good as he and his agent think he is, but spurned a golden chance to progress when he said ‘no thanks’ to us in my eyes.

It may have been mentioned above but this may have also been driven by SHM as they’ll need to get something for him before he walks away for free.

But it's only a loan until the end  of the season so he's no worse off than staying at Solihull, and more likely to be involved in meaningful games and a playoff campaig  than at mid table Solihull. Works for chesterfield. Works for Dallas, and makes sense for Solihull to at least get a loan fee now their season is all but over when he walks for nothing in a few weeks. It Has no effect on him signing for whoever he wants invthe summer, if anything it puts him in the shop window more if he scores in a playoff game against Wrexham or notts say.

SM have just lost another player to Wrexham so I’m guessing they’re trying to save a few quid for next season.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dallas end up somewhere like Motherwell next year.

Looks like Solihull have accepted this season is over. Dallas out on loan who will have been on decent money and they have replaced him with Jake Day for Northern Premier League side Guiseley.

Bald men fighting over a comb.
EFL chance at a big club was there. Blew it.
Faffing about in the NL with a ‘strategy’ is great I’m sure.
On loan, no guarantees. Doesn’t have any security for next season or beyond. Ain’t gonna be ‘big money’ for anyone now. Hope it works out.

Moors chairman releases placatory statement following the departure of Tyrone Barnett and now Andrew Dallas. The main takeaway for me however is that he looks a lot like a badly drawn Phil Parkinson.

However, young players have their own ambitions, understandably, and both Ryan and Andrew made it clear that they wanted to play in the EFL next season – and sadly, we are unlikely to match this ambition in the short term.

I mean... he had the opportunity to do so if the rumours are true. He must be holding out for the best deal possible, which you can understand but it could easily backfire.

At the end of the day you can't make someone go work somewhere he doesn't want to.
Maybe it's down to location , money , ambition or he might not like our style of play of management.

I think it confirms what we knew in that if things hadn't gone our way in the POF and they'd have got promoted their support based would have struggled to sustain league football and the extra costs that would have incurred.

On the face of it he appears to be pretty open about the reasons they've let talent go. Also good to see that Ardley hasn't been blamed for their mid table performance level, I think he's a decent manager, you would expect the vultures to be circling.

I imagine it's more the money side . On another level you look at the likes of what Kilian Mbappe gets at Paris St Germain. Last year he was on just over 1.5 million a week 😳. Football is ultimately a business where the best players go where the money is.

I’d like us to look at Sbarra rather Dallas, think he could fill a void to be left by McAttee.

I’d like us to pay some more fees int he summer with this new influx of money from the cup

Dallas certainly has a decent goals to games return at tin pot level, I just wonder if Twitter etc.. has made him the next big thing as it tends to do from time to time.

This Andrew Dallas thing has become a bleedin' fetish on here. His scoring record at L2 level is 2 goals in 23 games btw.

We're going to need at least two forwards in the summer, and if PH wants AD to be one of them that's fine with me.
But he'll be the 'good prospect'...the other guy (I'm hoping) will be 6' 4" and a proven goalscorer - you know, someone in
the mould of Erling Haaland, but more affordable (   ).

Personally, I'd look beyond Dallas. Not because he's already turned us down (allegedly), but because we should be in a
position, financially, to recruit someone who is proven better at the level we're at.

I feel a bit for Hurst - given our Cup success - because there'll now be some daft fans thinking he can go out and sign
a L2 version of Erling Haaland. If only it was that easy (see signature below)...

Should it ever be the case of PH leaving I wouldn't mind Ardley here. Conducts himself with the same class and seems to be able to get a tune out of a player, found a few gems at Solihull and came a whisker away to getting them promoted last year against us.

Happy dreaming Fishies!

Is no "allegedly" about it when the question about him was asked at the fan's forum and it was confirmed he turned us down because apparently he wants a bigger move. But no, if a player doesn't want to be here then it's a waste of time following up in the summer. There are other players out there but if a L2 Erling Haaland exists would he be looking to sign for a lower or mid-table L2 side? I guess money talks but it's the same with Dallas, if they don't want to be here then money will be the motivator to come and perform.

Would a Northern Irish Premier League striker with the top team in that league and with a propensity for scoring goals, be worth a look?  Or is that too low a League to be looking at a regular goal scorer?

All this talk about Dallas, Barnett and Sabara and yet the fact is that with all three of them in the team, plus a pretty capable manager, Solihull are just a mid table NL outfit. So it makes you wonder how good these players really are.

For a team with aspirations to get into L1 I think we should be looking at players with good EFL pedigree.

We already have a proven goal scorer at NLN level in Orsi. I wonder how the NIPL compares to that in  terms of quality?

Well the player I'm thinking of is Andy Ryan, who has played most of his career in Scotland.

Why are we still talking about him ?

Stuff him he had a chance to join a better club in a higher league and he did not want to come.

I  think we can do better.

Talking if Scottish players.  21yrs old Charlie Riley of Albion Rovers plays in the McAtee role ( which we shall be in need of )has scored 16 goals in 26 games with 8 assists . Do we ever look anywhere other than Acadamy players or free transfers ? Do we even have scouts anymore is that all done on videos. Nothing like seeing a prospective player in the flesh several times.

Albion Rovers are next to bottom of the 4th tier of Scottish football

Scottish football is an incredibly low standard. Bear in mind that players will go straight from the NL to the Scottish Premier, so God knows what level Albion Rovers would be the equivalent of in England.

But bigger clubs are eying him up . What makes you think he is / isn't one that we should watch ? 21yrs old can only get better . How many great players started at the bottom . Ian Wright 21 when picked up from Hackney Marshes . Loads of others.

My partner's family are from Forfar so if we're up there I occasionally go watch Forfar who are in that division. The standard is so shite I'm pretty sure I could get a game if I brought my boots. And I'm crap.

Went to see an Arbroath game once, just to verify. It's definitely closer to the sea. On a stormy night there, you'd definitely feel the splash of salty seawater.

It might seem that Scottish Football is of a lower standard than that in England but we still have had some excellent footballers that have come direct from Scottish teams. In my time of watching town I have seen Matt Tees ( Airdrieonians) , Bobby Ross ( St Mirren ) and Bobby Cumming ( as a 19 year old from Ballieston Juniors).

True but that was decades ago. The standard of football in the lower Scottish leagues is really poor now and wouldn't necessarily be a measure of a player being worthwhile in the English football League.

Because the standard is poor that doesn't necessarily mean that there aren't some good prospects to be found. There are many examples in the Football League of decent players who are playing in poor teams.

This is true, not sure about the level that Scottish league 2 is but when you have examples of National League players going to Premiership teams you'd expect it to be pretty low.

Also that's not a great example as Vardy's entire football league career is 2 seasons in the championship, finishing 6th and 1st.

Just to put some context on the standard of Scottish football  Colin Cramb and Michael Antoine Curier became prolific scorers in Scotland, enough said. !!!
