So was I………

Have a look at the stats and tell me they didn’t batter us.

I think there's lies, damn lies and statistics.

They had most of the posession (about 75% according to the BBC) but it was mostly in the defensive and midfield thirds. They only really penetrated us when they got the ball behind our full backs but seldom got in a truly dangerous cross. If they did get in a good cross the strikers didn't make the most of them. I recall one that picked out the 9 perfectly and he more or less passed back to Max.

They had a lot more shots than us but only marginally more on target. A lot more corners - which I'd suggest was as a result of our defence dealing with generally poor crosses. I think we committed more fouls by some margin.

You could see the Prem quality in some of their passing - when Walker-Peters linked with Djenepo they looked dangerous and had Glennon chasing shadows (no criticism of Glennon). And when they had made all of their substitutions they did batter us but they didn't for 90 minutes.

Mid way through the first half they were passing square across their midfield on the halfway line and I thought to myself 'you can do that all night'.

Difficult to put the magnitude of it all into words. Wasn’t even the best performance of our cup run but certainly the biggest result of my lifetime and there’s an argument for it being the greatest in our history given the reward of a FA Cup quarter bloody final!

It’s very surreal

Watching it now after being at the ground last night. People wasn't exaggerating when they said we was loud on TV. WOW!!
I really like the 2 commentators aswell, very complimentary.
"If there's ever an away end I'd want to be in, it's that one"
"They're crazy"
"Cartwheels before they even took the penalty"
Many many times they commented on the noise and craziness of us all. Well done all

Just back after a business meeting in Southampton 😉

On reflection there is so much good stuff to talk though but very little to add to what’s been posted.

Just really proud of the players, staff and our fantastic support.

6th round of the FA Cup, effing hell!

In context of the pyramid gap it’s probably bigger but Liverpool are giants of the game so that one will always be special
