What does he have to do to be better than Sir Alan?

Get us to the second division playing beautiful football. I'd happily Knight Paul right now though.

He’s starting to rival Buckley for status and so he should , this cup run should finance some serious strengthening of the team next campaign

It’s sacrilege to compare anyone to Lord Buckley but I do think that one more promotion and Hurst over takes him.

He has his detractors, quite how I’ll never know but he does but just watch that post match interview, tears in his eyes. He gets it.

We’ll be excrement for a time, we’ll be good for a time but I can honestly say I’ve never felt in safer hands that with Hurst at the helm…

Not sure I can see much sense in trying to compare Hurst and Buckley - different eras and now it's a different game (e.g. VAR).

Alan Buckley was great for us, and Paul Hurst is great for us now... I can leave it at that, personally.

Buckley . Promotion to the championship twice
First ever Wembley appearance and won in front of 30.000 town fans .
Kept us in the the championship competing well for many seasons .

That's the tip of AB's ice berg really

Hurst has a long long way to go to be compared

Agree with this, different eras, different levels in the pyramid, different set of variables. Why cant we have one Sir and one El General.

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

For those saying you can’t compare Hurst and Buckley, it’s obvious you fools. Both are less than 5ft 5inches tall

And on that point, I’d like to propose a policy, that never again do we employ a manager taller than 5ft 5inches tall.

Get in you Mariners
