I was in the Army when Lawrie McMenemy was Manager, and when he got us promoted I wrote a letter congratulating him and the club on our promotion.  It was the mark of the man that a few days later I received a hand written letter in return.  Unfortunately, years of moving every couple of years resulted in that letter getting lost.

Interesting to note that, according to Wikipedia (so not guaranteed to be accurate), PH had a 49.5% win ratio in his first spell as solo manager here, and 44.7% with Shouty.

This time around, he's on a measly 42.3%.

This time around, he's had only 1 season in non league, where wins are a bit easier to come by and it also includes his inheriting a Sunday League team, which was relegated.

His stats will improve in time.
