Any notion that they made a mistake leaving the teaching profession, is a daft notion.
The Cowley's will get another job in very little time at all. In the meantime, since Lincoln, they have held two highly paid jobs with good contract obligations that will have paid out nicely.
They are now on the football management merry-go-round, have built up some stock which isn't damaged too much, and as far as employment is concerned they will get jobs in football management.
The one that always makes me wonder though is this. At what point does Nicky Cowley fancy getting a managers job, or will they always work together?
Even away from the pay, you only get to live one life. Who amongst us wouldn't take the chance to be a professional football manager if given the chance and there were signs you actually might be half decent at it? They've had a record breaking FA cup run, won two promotions, won at Wembley and managed against some very big clubs. Even if all other things were equal, how much better is that to look back on when you're older than organising Year 9 boys' hockey on a Wednesday afternoon? (No offence to any PE teachers on here)

A win percentage of 43 though, so not a lot like Hurst at Ipswich
Hurst is currently 34% this season. Time he walked

A fair few ex football professionals end up in management having played the game at professional or semi professional level. Paul Hurst I note had a decent career at Rotherham for one and is seen as a bit of a legend there. I think having played the game does help in management. I remember Harry Redknapp saying something similar. Had a go at journalists who had never played the game at any level and was angry with them at passing judgement as if it was gospel.

Due to the incestuous nature of the football industry, the majority of managers are likely to have played football at some level. Klopp, Wenger, Mourinho, Sven, Warburton etc all played football at various levels, with limited success. Even entrapment victim, Micky Jolley, played youth team football for Barnsley. There are very few managers with less playing experience than those. Sarri, various Portuguese managers, Houllier, Parreira, Sacchi… Although as Sacchi said, ‘a jockey doesn’t have to have been born a horse’. Most respected football journalists (The Athletic, UK broadsheets etc) are far more knowledgeable about football than most Premier League players and ex-footballer pundits. I would also take anything Harry Redknapp says with a high degree of scepticism. I am worried most of your football ‘heroes’ have a colourful history in respect of football transfers and tax affairs - allegedly.

That's debatable Knut's although there are some good journalists out there your right . I've always liked Tim Vickery for one . I rather have Rio Ferdinand or Alan Shearer as pundits on the BBC than some big fat fella who's never played at any level . Rio is someone I've always liked especially more so given the fact he came from an underprivileged background to make it as had that passion for the game which got him there . He even admits there were people who he grew up with that were better than him but couldn't be bothered with the training and discipline needed for football and fell by the wayside. As for Harry has he had a dodgy past ( probably) but then who hasn't made a few errors of judgement growing up albeit some more than others . I still feel what he says does apply to not just football but other sports as well be it boxing or tennis. Being in the heat of battle does help get a better appreciation of the sport and what it takes to keep levels there be it physically and emotionally. It was Marvin Hagler the great boxing middleweight that once said "it's tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5am when you've been sleeping in silk pajamas”.

35% for anyone capable of understanding the concept of rounding.

The Cowley was also the first time I saw a bit of unprofessionalism and shithousery with Farmen (GK) pretended to be injured every now and then so the managers could get points across they would do this quite a lot.

Didn’t they ‘invent’ that bus stop corner routine that England have since used

Not sure Woz but I went to one match with a Lincoln work mate and Farmen would fake an injury and he’ll do this regularly I was told lol.
