But would it be such a bad thing?

Let them go, let subscription TV have big wnak over it and fans of proper community clubs in the EFL can just ignore them. I mostly ignore the Premiership now anyway.

Promote 6 clubs from the National League, bring in more stringent ownership rules and go back to League Divisions 1 to 4. Have proper cup competition, a fair TV deal with money shared much more evenly. Go back to the old European Cup format for clubs and country champions outside the Super League.

Spot on.

Spot on, let all six of them #£_ off, and not be involved in any of the English competitions, it's going to happen eventually anyway.

As long as the feckers don't try to keep an interest in the English leagues through B teams...

Its been driven by the top european teams, because the English clubs are dominating in Europe, no Heysel disater to stop them this time, they need a bigger slice of the TV revenue

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus remain wedded to the idea of a Super League, I wonder why. oh because they a riddled with debt.

I think there is more to it than debt though. Perez the Real Madrid president stated he wants a prestigious Super League as it negates games to be  played in the champions League against some unglamorous opposition. Personally think that's a elitist view. It takes all types to make the beautiful game what it is. Having said that fans is what drives the passion of football and ultimately make or break it. Still feel it's a imbalance  what some of the top players get whilst some essential workers eg teachers and the like doing incredibly tough jobs in challenging areas get paid absolute pittance in comparison.

But they’re not planning on leaving their respective leagues? That was never the plan, essentially, what they want is a champions league without the shite teams.

Agnelli, Perez and the geezer at Barca need this desperately in order for their clubs to continue. Barca deserve to collapse and go under, ceasing to exist given how they’ve behaved and let’s face it, Real only exist because of the royal family shovelling cash in to the club.

Agnelli needs it to keep Juve ticking over. They’ve an obsession with the European cup and try as they might, they never had enough to deliver, even when the reached finals. He won’t keep putting family cash in because he knows it’s more than they have, couple that with the mafia making as much money from Juve as the club do and it’s a recipe for disaster.

Whatever anyones thoughts of the premier league or the cash or whatever, the only teams in this super league nonsense that are not on their bottom are the English clubs, even Utd and Spurs.

It will happen but ultimately, it already exists, just with some excrement teams in it too…

Going slightly of topic though Aldi but still related is media scrutiny out in Spain is arguably more for the top teams there than here . Out in Spain there is no tabloids but just mainly football daily's  just for Real  Madrid and Barcelona notably the Marca and AS for Madrid and El Mundo Deportivo and Sport for Barcelona. It's similar in Italy I seem to gather as well. Everything is geared on the elite in Spain . I remember reading as well in the Marca a few years back that there are some players in La Liga on wages not that great comparatively speaking for top flight football eg roughly £ 75,000 to 90,000 annually.
