When was the last time we sold out for a regular league game on a Tuesday night?

Got my ticket this morning for the Forest game. Arrived at 9.30 and there were about 15 to 20 fans in front of me. Ticket office opened at 10 and I was served by 10.10. There was a big queue behind me when I left.

Wrexham last season was sold out home areas - without Osmond A and B of course.

And what a brilliant night it was, too. Great game, great atmosphere and a great Town comeback too - a sign of things that were to come.

Maybe I am missing something here... I know over-the-counter tickets for Forest went on sale this morning so I assume that is the reason for the long queues, but surely it is easier to pay for your ticket online and get it loaded to your ST? (saving both time and money)

You’d imagine so although we still seem to cling to over the counter sales. I know many a club have essentially eradicated over the counter sales for games. I understand people may need to collect tickets but the actual purchasing of tickets seems to be disappearing. Makes sense to me but I’m sure some will disagree.

Its great that it’s busy though and with 3 games in a week fair play to the staff, I bet they’ve never had to work this hard shifting tickets…

Well tickets are one thing but I was genuinely  gobsmacked at just  how  many Town fans had bought and where wearing the new shirt  on Saturday. The clubshop takings must have easily quadrupled in the last 12 months.

Maybe you are missing something - it's called "freedom of choice". It's like some people not using Internet Banking, or using cash instead of bank cards. Why should people be "steamrollered" into a monetary system they don't feel comfortable with. Surely a minority of people still should have a choice or do you believe in Corbyns mantra " for the many, not the few"?

Only around 25 non restricted view left in Main and Osmond A mostly single seats left for Carlisle .I know I keep banging on about this but why does it take until now to open Osmond B when it was obvious a week ago it was heading for a home sell out and Carlisle have only been allocated only 250 tickets according to their website. I really don’t think is fair to force people to buy poor view seats before opening additional areas and not encouraging to new fans. If it’s an attempt to save a few quid on stewarding costs it’s counter productive . Will no doubt be the same for Saturday

Steady on fella, you do what you like! Not once did I say that you did not have a right to choose how you purchase your ticket, I was merely saying that it does not make sense to me (and still doesn't...).

You said earlier in the thread that you queued for 40 minutes, add to that your travel time & cost to and from the ticket office then compare with doing it online (it took me less than 2 minutes). That's a lot of time wasted in my opinion, but as I say... you do you.

Great option for me just before jumping on a plane to Mallorca. Sadly missing Rochdale, Carlisle and next Sat. too. At least the lads topped off a lovely 50th Wedding anniversary for us in Puerto Pollensa. Back for Forest game.

Likewise, I really don't understand this. Osmond A and B should be opened together and the back rows of the Main should be treated as restricted. So what if there are a hundred seats or so left at the back of the Main whilst people are buying in Osmond A and B. Blundell Park has enough limitations without unnecessarily forcing people to buy seats with poor views.

I admit maybe it was a tad over reactive and maybe I misinterpreted your post slightly. But as an "old timer" aged 74 I , like many other older people, find it increasingly difficult to either keep up with or trust all the new technological developments as regards on-line purchasing. As another poster mentioned a lot of clubs are changing over to on-line purchasing only leaving a fair number of the older generation disadvantaged. Obviously you can't stop technology and it would be totally wrong to adopt a Luddite attitude but even so a more gradual adoption of new purchasing methods would IMO be a better approach. I can see where on-line purchasing has great appeal to those with limited time or difficulty in accessing BP just to purchase a ticket. But in my case being retired I have the time, it gets me out of the house for a while and I can tie the journey into doing other errands as well.

Fair enough. The good news is that even though this is way the world is going I expect we are a long way off from saying that fans either buy online or not at all. I can't see 1878 ever letting that happen.

Also, I assumed we'd be giving teams like Carlisle the corner seems though they're not bringing anymore than 200-300.
Nice to see tickets are still selling really well considering its a Tuesday night and can be watched at home.

I wonder if the decision has been made to just use the same blocks for town fans? Providing a more consistent approach to ground safety etc?

The digitisation of ticketing has been around for a while and plenty of top flight clubs have been using it for years, along with cup finals now being online based. I appreciate it does affect a small number of fans but I guess, a club like town, there’s probably a way to solve that issue. The trust offering some support? Other fans helping out etc.

Whilst some may not like it, it will happen and to be honest, as we saw with Wrexham and Notts County, it made it extremely challenging to organise the sale of those tickets, splitting the tickets between the two with having zero idea how many would choose each way.

Presumably because you’d then need a line of stewards on both sides of the away fans, rather than just one.

Was away at my daughters at the weekend so we took in the Cheltenham v Portsmouth game and first time I’ve been to Whaddon Road and was amazed firstly that when we entered the ground to walk up to our seats we actually walked up right next to the pitch and could easily have run on.

When we got to our seats there were four rows of seats separating us from Portsmouth fans with one Steward stood in between who must have been in his seventies.

Obviously the Cheltenham crowd are very placid no cross words from the crowd despite them being crap all game. Have to say a disappointing game and neither side looked anything other than ordinary and can see the Cowleys struggling to keep their jobs without more additions.

No way that approach to crowd safety could be adopted but it was like attending a rugby match rather than football and have to say Portsmouth supporters were excellent.

Fair play to all involved in the office and our fans

Should be second highest attendance in the League tonight - I am assuming Swindon will get the highest

Great to be back in the footy League

I know a couple of Pompey fans from visiting verona, they hate Cowley, describe him as a non league one trick pony…which, to be fair, isn’t far from the truth.

As for Cheltenham, they’ve never had a fence down that side of the ground, funny club though. Remember the year we went up, someone draped a flag over the barrier and the stewards lost their mind and they were idiots on the turnstile, that said, it’s not a place you expect any bother.

Not a great away day but I take your point about stewarding, much like rochdale; treat people like humans and not animals and they’ll generally be alright.

Only about 50 tickets left for Carlisle despite late addition of block B Osmond so we clearly will be another sell out . Not first game of season and a Tuesday night so can’t think of any remaining arguments to say we are not at capacity.
