Is apparently at an all time low?
In a week where it was announced that our former principle funder avoided paying almost £800k in tax that Her Majesty was chasing him for, you might just beat him to the award of TOTW.

My only guess is that the poster thought it was funny to juxtapose that morale was low when obviously everything is going well.
Or it's a troll post.

Only thing I can think of is perhaps the club were caught a little bit short due to the fact we realistically wasn't expecting promotion and now they have been inundated with season ticket sales, shirt sales, new sponsors, transitioning to the EFL and things. I bet it hasn't been easy! Although saying morale is an all time low I find hard to believe. I popped in the other day and it was fine

What an utterly bizarre post.
Went in to get my ST and new shirt on Saturday and I've not seen such a buzz about the place for a long, long time.
Strange how some people seek to create imaginary negative situations to validate their own personal despondency.

Went in this afternoon and they did look a bit stretched if I'm honest. Just a young lad serving at the counter, the rest working behind a big black screen.
No idea about morale though.

Strange statement.
On the office though, did hear from my Nana who's a long time ST holder in the Upper Smiths that they made a bit of an oopsie where they sent her old ST card back to her rather than her new one so she had to go to Blundell Park to get her new one.
Just guessing they're really busy right now, she did mention it's full of young staff but they were helpful as anything.
Ordered a new shirt myself and came the other day with a free card holder thingy too so they're doing a stellar job in my eyes!

BS!!!!!! I was in there today and the vibe I got from the staff was nothing but good. They were so helpful as I had quite a lot to discuss regarding my old man and his illness and how they could accommodate him on a match day. They went above and beyond, I could not of asked for more, it made me feel so proud of our club. Happy smiling faces all round. UTM!!!

Thought it was a reference to those posts we had on here a few months ago making that accusation, and that complaints had gone in about bullying? They did seem, at the time, like the death rattle of of the old regime as it was swept out the door and seem to have been complete bullshít and we never heard anything after that as Noche and he fluffers disappeared.

Old Noche won't have disappeared, he'll just be using his other username. Quite laughable that he and Pen Penfras were claiming the club was in a parlous state when it literally hasn't been healthier this century.

I was in the ticket office on Saturday (very busy btw, with I would guess a 50/50 split of renewals/new ST holders and those collecting tickets). They all seemed happy, on form and definitely not what you would gauge as at the lower end of the morale stick.
These swipes from the old regime are very much what you would expect, best we just to ignore them in future perhaps?

The office staff are doing a tremendous job in times of unprecedented demand. They are working extended hours to cope with this too. In all of it I am sure of one thing, they will get significantly more recognition and reward than they ever did under the old regime.

Any evidence to back up this strange statement/ question.?
I would expect the staff have been extremely busy recently with ticket sales and shirts etc. Is that a reason ?
Morale in the work place usually centres how people feel valued. I don't work at GTFC so can't comment on that. I would say from the outside looking in the owners do come across as the sort of employers who do value those on their team.

A mischief-making post clearly the opposite of the truth.
Morale considerably better than at the Number 10 Office.
As said above, the Club is trying to manage “success overload”. Always good for high morale, even if staff are extremely busy pulling out all the stops.

Just been in to pick up STs. Two younger lads serving, the rest behind their desks. Not sure how you're meant to judge morale when most of the are screened off to be honest.

It's no one else's business is it really? Fenty and his Goons are gone and the club is moving forward. There will be bumps along the way like all busy successful businesses. I bet all football clubs aren't all sweetness and light behind the scenes

Think “scandal” is overdoing it a touch, wouldn’t flatter yourself. You do sound like a water-cooler gossip and office grass, and unless you work for ACAS it’s none of your business and certainly not the business of anyone on here.

I mean it wouldn't suprise me if they were all a bit down, the last few week must of been manic and exhausting. Season tickets selling like hot cakes and then the same for the shirt launch.
They must be gagging for a few quiet days after all that, but to say its an all time low is probably an over exaggeration

The owners I am sure will recognise the hard work being put in not just by the playing and coaching staff but the 'whole' team within the club and will I am sure recompense them in some manner. That might not be at this moment in time due to how busy it is and not necessarily in monetary terms, bit I am sure they will.
Morale can be looked at, and monitored in several ways and doesn't necessarily mean somebody shouting it out. Certain people react in different ways to differing situations also. Any job can be difficult at times, even listening/reading to James McKeown last week about his "troubles" about finding a new club unfortunately doesn't wash with me. It's no different from being out of work in any other industry, it happens.
If the OP thinks, or has been informed of a morale issue from a person, please contact the club directly and raise the concern, the last thing we want now is negativity creeping through the door. Obviously don't mention names however as this could compound the issue!

Noche hasn’t posted much since it was found that he shared his IP with another username which had an email address with a real name attached to it. It isn’t him and there’ll be no further comment on that but rest assured that wind up merchants are being watched closely.

I have no idea if morale is low at the club.
Some people seem to think Jason's fixation on "culture" is just people all being nice to each other. But it goes far beyond that...
Jason Stockwood: “Getting the culture right is absolutely critical – in terms of standards, in terms of behaviour, in terms of expectations, and everything emanates from that because your leaders and the people that are visible in the organisation determines qualities, values and beliefs."
We do know there have been some own goals. The ticket office seem to have no idea whether STHs have moved seats or not which is bizarre and is causing issues for selling new STs. The shirt launch was a disaster wasn't it? Pre-COVID we always released 3 full kits as well as goalkeeper kits. This year they have only released a home shirt and haven't even managed to get the shorts & socks released have they? My understanding is the club shop is virtually empty of anything worth buying at the moment. And the club website is still a work in progress, although in the past few days the output on there has increased which is a positive. But stories like Sam Russell departing were totally missed weren't they?
There have probably been some conversations between those who run the club & those who have responsibility over departments within the business, but that's normal in any business. Some employees might well be suffering low morale on the back of that, but it doesn't mean the morale of the business as a whole is poor.

I think the new kit lies firmly at the door of the board and nobody else. I understand why it was later this year, a new sponsor required new artwork, new designs etc so we will probably have been later than usual placing the order. I think everyone expected a buzz this summer but nobody expected us to score 3 extra time winners in 13 days to win promotion. By this point, the initial home shirt order is probably on a boat and there will have been no way of getting more in sooner.

The club is a work in progress. Under the old regime the club stank of amateurism from top to bottom. It was frankly an embarrassment, bordering on a joke.
It will obviously take a while to turn around everything that needs fixing after years of mis-management, but there have been significant improvements already, not least of which on the pitch!
There is more work to be done but the direction of travel is plain to see. So let’s cut the cub a little slack.

You're being too generous to the club. There's no new replica kits in stock. There's no new training wear available. There's no new fashion items available. It's 3 weeks from the start of the season. It's an absolute shambles and embarrassing for a professional club's retail offering to be in that state.

Yet summers ran smoothly and the club shop was always full of new items (replica kits, training wear etc...) for us to waste our money on by mid-June. I'm not cutting them any slack. 14 months is plenty of time for the new regime to organise things.

Give it a rest Golly!...in 14 months they have to try to raise the Titanic and refloat the Exxon Valdez!.. Getting this club back to where it belongs was never going to be an overnight thing and if you think with the current global markets and supply chains the club could get hold of "new" stock any quicker, then maybe go ask Jason for a job!..

Thanks to the efforts of the previous administration demand for everything associated with the club was much lower. No wonder there was plenty of stock left on the shelves.

Not sure if Gollys point is correct or not re stock, But probably more available due to lack of demand caused by apathy and sadness at the state of the club as a whole with the previous regime

That would hold up if they had sold out of everything. They haven't. They sold out of the only item they've had in- the Home shirt. They don't have home shorts, home socks, away shirts, away shorts, away socks, 3rd shirts, 3rd shorts, 3rd socks, goalkeeper shirts, goalkeeper shorts, goalkeeper socks, coats, hoodies, training tops (long sleeved), training tops (short sleeved), tracksuit bottoms or training shorts. All those items were always in stock by mid-June in the past. That isn't them misjudging demand. That is them failing to get any stock at all.

Golly, you’ve turned into a hybrid of Kermit, miss piggy, Cookie Monster and Waldorf and statler.
The most ludicrous comments I have seen you put on here, and I’ve often thought you were one of the better posters on here.
The club is coming out of the dark ages and we’ve literally gone from total incompetence to a finally tuned car. Give it a rest and don’t give the owners/club/staff Sh1t for bringing success and happiness to the fans both near and far. There is unprecedented demand for everything as can be seen in the sale of season tickets. How could the club have forecast that there would be this much enthusiasm and energy when the orders for the first supply of kits would’ve had to have been ordered.
Grab yourself a pina colada and enjoy the ride. It’s a good time to be a town fan.

What's demand got to do with anything when the items haven't even been released 3 weeks before the season? They've only got 1 item into the club shop (Home Shirt). Your defence would hold up if all the usual items had been released, but they haven't. Aren't we free to give feedback and point issues like this out? Especially as we are in an new age of transparency. How are GTFC as a business going to improve if people only tell them the things they do well and not the things they have messed up and/or failed at?

The training gear is launching this weekend Golly so if you're an early riser tomorrow morning you should be able to get some!
Away kit is next weekend.
Clearly the club have placed orders for stock based on usual demand which has been inadequate this summer. That's understandable. If the new sponsor deal was agreed late in the season we may have had to delay the order, which, coupled with continuing supply chain and Brexit-related import issues, will be why there have been problems.
It's fair enough to criticise the club and we don't need to coddle the new owners just because they aren't Fenty, but maybe there are fair reasons for low stock in the shop and you're overreacting a tad?

Supporting town has us all preprogrammed to moan. We can’t moan about big decisions, signings, the team and the last 3 months so we’ll start on the club shop.
I guess if spending cash in the club shop is your thing and wanting items I can understand why people are annoyed but I’m not arsed, the shirt is out. Next week for away. Unprecedented demand…
We’ll all live…

Is the kit manufactured out in the far east or indeed anywhere overseas? If so, it's probably on the slow boat or stuck in a backlog of containers at the border. Supply chain problems are bad in many areas and it could be the case that this is the issue. Just assuming that the club has simply failed to plan properly without evidence seems to be jumping the gun a bit.
It may be their fault, it may be a problem with the manufacturer, it may be a problem with the shipment. Lots of problems around at present.

There are plenty of problems as you say but in truth, it’s probably not really a big problem to anyone other than fans. Yes, I’m aware the club can generate cash and it capitalises on interest but is an extra couple of weeks gonna make any real difference? I’d suspect not…

Have you contacted the club to tell them what you think and maybe seek some reasons why or are you just sitting there whining? Yes Fenty had kits available 3 weeks before the season but he also never changed the shirt sponsor and when he did create a feel good factor with promotion, he couldn't be bothered to keep our best players. Fenty wasn't approachable, fans were an inconvenience. The new regime is different so I assume you've politely told them your thoughts and had a response?

Personally I'd take our promotion over what replica fear the club shops got in stock . I wanted a ST I got up and went down on the first Saturday I could and bought one last week I did the same with the new home shirt. I'm not entirely sure how much help this gives the club? What I do know 5k St sales and 1k shirts sold by this stage of July is unprecedented and I for one am delighted to see GTFC back as the beating heart of the local community, Golly is right to point out things could be better and I hope he's seen fit to try and get his point across through Debbie Cook etc? We will have similar demand this time next year when we are about to assault league one.UTM

No doubt if we finished mid table in the National league, like we did for the first two years there last time Fenty got us relegated, there would be a few more shirts available in the shop and less queues for season tickets.

We got promoted (exceeding most reasonable expectations).
We've allegedly f*cked-up replica shirt supplies (understandably given the above).
Conclusion: We prioritized correctly.

My only real complaint is the new online store is a bit disappointing. Better than the old one, for sure, but it's rough all over the edges. Just take the order history page for example, everything's off-centre, you wouldn't know to view more information you have to click the order ID which isn't highlighted or made obvious it's clickable. Found bugs with broken links, everything's just a bit wonky. Not the club's fault, it's mainly the software provider and I'm being overly picky as web development is my day job but kinda expected a bit more due-diligence before we went with the provider - especially from our techie owners! Also just under a fiver for the postage was pretty pricey IMO.

It took our new owners just over a year to achieve the main object, promotion. The club shop is important but if we had not achieved promotion then the demand for the shop would be less. They cannot make plans on mights/hopes, so I'm sure come this time next season things will be different.

And frankly, if we get promoted again this season I wont be too bothered about how much stock is in the shop in early July.

And frankly, if we get promoted again this season I wont be too bothered about how much stock is in the shop in early July.

You could be right, but we all are guessing as to the reasons. But the club got the main things right. Promotion Season Tickets Squad Build. They are the main things, important things, anything else is the cherry. If the shirt is that important, get your granny to knit you one.

Yet summers ran smoothly and the club shop was always full of new items (replica kits, training wear etc...) for us to waste our money on by mid-June.
I'm not cutting them any slack. 14 months is plenty of time for the new regime to organise things.
Yeah. Mussolini got the trains to run on time.

Quoted from 137
We got promoted (exceeding most reasonable expectations).
We've allegedly f*cked-up replica shirt supplies (understandably given the above).
Conclusion: We prioritized correctly.
The two things are not mutually exclusive.

The training gear is launching this weekend Golly so if you're an early riser tomorrow morning you should be able to get some!
Unfortunately (or is it fortunately?) I don't live in the area and again the club have excluded exiles due to extremely limited stock.

Surely a brief statement from the club could put all this bed. Would not be surprised to se3 a new kit supplier at the earliest opportunity
Macron are contracted until the end of 2023/24 season.

Have you reached out to the club directly for them to say they have excluded you?

I’m sure no one will be offended if you turn up to a game wearing an old shirt.

So, if I’m reading this right gourmet hotdogs, scotch eggs and a glass barrier won’t get you promoted.
But selling football kits and training wear might?

You would think by some comments, that's not the right conclusion. Some people want shirts, socks, shorts, baby grows, onesies, tea-cosies, toilet seat covers, and a scarve+bobble hat (in the summer), above a promotion. Sod Promotion (who needs it?) Ticket sales (I've got mine!) Squad build (what's the point?) I WANT MY SHIRT !!!!!!!!!

I've seen Jarvis and FoodtTown shirts, so what's wrong with a Young's one?

What I think many are saying is that it is not an either or matter, whether we got promoted or not there was always going to be massive demand for a new shirt with a new sponsor for the first time in over a decade. The people who run the commercial side do not pick the team but their actions in creating revenue might well help us get three points on a Saturday. We cannot pretend there are not lessons to learn for future close seasons and the plans off the park have to be as focussed as those in it. I do not have clue how many kits the club ordered it how they calculated that figure but rather than having this childish secrecy about the new kit perhaps they should have chosen a design produced a sample and asked for fans to pre order or express an intention to buy it at the earliest opportunity, with new sponsor blanked if it is commercially sensitive. This may have allowed an increased production run We became tinpot in may ways when we went down the first time under Fenty and he never understood we had to step up when we got promoted, too many were too comfortable without pushing the boundaries of what the club could achieve both on and off the pitch. Perhaps the most heartening thing is the new owners want to look for every possible gain and will learn from some of the mistakes. They are still new to running a football club but already it feels like a different club, a club that is going in right direction at last

.
If last season proves anything then surely it's that gourmet hotdogs, scotch eggs and a glass barrier do generally get you 3 points on a Saturday and also promotion. Time the hotdogs, eggs and glass barrier got the credit they deserved. It was an outrage they weren't included on the open top bus parade. 😎

It took our new owners just over a year to achieve the main object, promotion. The club shop is important but if we had not achieved promotion then the demand for the shop would be less. They cannot make plans on mights/hopes, so I'm sure come this time next season things will be different.
It's Paul Hurst's job and his coaching staff and players to get promotion. Other people in the organisation have a different role. Just because the main goal has been achieved does it mean, that the rest can rest on their laurels? I thought the whole ethos of '1878' was to be good in all areas of the GTFC brand. I hope you're right about next season.

Not if but when
The irony is that when we start dropping points, many of those who snapped up all the shirts , won't give a excrement while some of the 'moaners' , have followed the club through thick and thin.

Not me. I generally get them when they are getting knocked off for a tenner before the shirt changes. My most used Town shirts go back many years. The blue away 'Food Town' shirt is a favourite plus the 'Ciba Geigy' yellow and red aways. They fit me better now than they did then. Something to do with not being a cider bucket anymore.

As a natural lazy illegitimate I don’t think my morale would be very high if my workload trebled from the previous year , that said most of the club shop and ticket office staff are genuine fans and probably live the fact there’s a buzz about the place
