We lost 2-0 at Luton that season, just before Christmas.

You are correct. I’d forgotten we spent two seasons with them in League Two.

I was thinking of the game early in the 16/17 season where Bogle got a Kayden Jackson assisted brace.

That game I’m 2016 was the first time I’d heard the Omar Bogle chant to that Blur tune. Sounded great in the covered end at Luton.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

The first was actually a Shaun Pearson Cryuff shot as such that fell into Bogles path

Just think. Next season Luton could be in a higher Division than Everton.

Who'd have thought that not so long ago!

Mental. I’m now almost as certain that Everton will drop this season as I am Scunny. Weapons grade levels of ineptitude to pull that off.

Speaking of the Championship, also slightly mental is the fact that Aleksander Mitrovic scored his 38th league goal of the season last night, in just 37 appearances. 7 assists to boot; not too shabby.

You have to worry for Everton if they drop too. Lost £373m over the last 3 years which is far in excess of FFP. They've claimed Covid cost them £121m even though matchday income is typically something like £800k per home game.

He said that Kevin Drinkell had the most potential of any striker in the lower divisions.  He was probably right.

I read Drink's autobiography. It was amazing how many times GTFC blocked moves to big clubs, before the club lost out on a lot of money when his sale went to a tribunal and the club only received £105k for him. He explains everything from his perspective. Very enlightening indeed.

As I recall they had several unsuccessful play off attempts in the NL but then had a lucrative cup run which brought in a million which enabled them to invest in players who got them promoted the following season.

We also have had a windfall of around a million recently from transfers but of course our previous owner cares more about getting his loans paid off early and so it all goes to him.

This still irritates me, especially as we then invested all of that money in Jimmy Gilligan.
