I was curious about Chesterfields take on the tackle on Kabongo Tshimanga

When Trawling through their forum, came across this comment

"Already on another thread but posted again here as it seems to fit here.
Worth noting that there has been some genuine concern comments from other True footballing fans on other forums. True footballing supporters, irrelevant of what colours they support, who appreciate the human side of the game, understand football and recognise talent. Fair play to some of the genuine footballing comments on fellow League sites including Wrexham, Stockport and the Fishy. To all true supporters a genuine thank you. Hope you are reading this and pass on the thanks to your Clubs and fellow fans. You know who you are. Thank You."

Then I came across this comment

"Wrexham will be fine on a Tuesday, Grimsby have had their big day out at Notts, but Stockport, yeah fcku em, give them the corner."

We are probably have the best away support of any of the National League teams and put alot of EFL teams to shame, with our amazing away following.

To say we have had our big day out at Notts, says it all about Chesterfield.

The problem is, after the article in The Times, I'm fully expecting Chestefield to be early KO and limited tickets.

Not that I think that's in any way proportionate/effective (and hate the punishing of the well behaved masses for actions of a few), but afraid it just makes it even easier to impose restrictions now.

The chances of chesterfield being moved was high anyway, remember last time when they actually made stuff up?

The bloody pre season friendly was early kick off anyway and ticket only if I remember right.
Then they delayed kick off because of road works.

Exactly, don’t think we were ever going to get close to a 3pm kick off with whichever set of clowns police Chesterfield. Honestly can’t believe that more wasn’t made of their police just blatantly lying about town fans smashing a pub up - the landlord said the pub was absolutely fine and had hardly seen a town fan all day!

From what I can see we’ve not had a Saturday 3pm ko at Chesterfield for at least 14 years. Don’t think any allocation or restrictions this time around are going to be helped by 50 Chesterfield tramps turning up at Freshney Place in balaclavas earlier in the year.  This after having a pre-season friendly moved to a midday kick off with tickets restricted at 500.

You can’t say things like that, it’s only town that have that element…or so you’d be led to believe.

Can see it already, 1500 tickets, 1pm KO, not a hint of trouble but they’ll still say there’s been disorder.

How the police got away with it last time is beyond me…

They got away with it because everybody is scared to challenge them. It’s amazing that in this day and age but somehow it’s true. It really needs to be taken up at a higher level, but clubs (note the plural, it’s not just us) seem reluctant to do this. Perhaps they (understandably so) are weary of been seen to be undermining police efforts to prevent genuine hooligans.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I'm not sure where you come up with this rubbish. I'm sure most Town fans accept that this is only a minority and happens everywhere, but this doesn't mean they don't what the idiot element eradicating from our fan base.

It’s the simple option for the police, where they can justify their actions reasonably. They wouldn’t ever dream of looking at reasonable (practical?) solutions that could actually work. But, unfortunately that’s the way that a lot of police forces will treat football supporters. We’re an easy target. All tarnished with the same brush so treat everyone the same. It’s this antagonistic approach that I think inflames the situation, and instead of moving on the police don’t…….maybe won’t. And there is no argument towards counteracting this as, ‘they ARE the law’.

Don’t forget, you are innocent until proven guilty. Unless you are a football supporter.

Don't think I'll bother. Will be a terrible day out. Last league game they closed all pubs, 1pm kick off and herded us into a caged area inside the ground I seem to remember. Derbyshire Police arguably worse that South Yorkshire Police which is some acolade.

The last game there was that Dembele game, and a decent day out from memory. Glorious August weather, few pints on the way to the ground and a barnstorming 3-1 win for Russell Slade’s black and white army.

Some of the games at Saltergate were a bit ropey though I recall, but I wouldn’t write this one off until the police have fùcked about with it.

So Cheaterfield think we are out of the running!

I would hope that we make a last dash for the line and sneak into the EFL!

I think both Chesterfield and especially us can forget about winning the league. Stockport are currently tracking to hit 94 points based on PPG, but that overlooks the difference between their form pre and post-Challinor.

Dave Challinor took over on 2nd November, and took 1 point from his first 2 games in charge. Since then, their league form looks like this: W11 D1 L1. That’s an 85% win rate, and since Christmas in the league they’ve scored 26 and conceded 4 over a stretch of 9 games.

It pains me to say it because I don’t like the bloke for obvious reasons, but the statistics suggest that Dave Challinor is a very capable manager. I would bet my house on Stockport winning the league at this stage give their form and squad, the absence of Tshimanga at Chesterfield and the fact that for all their spending Wrexham still aren’t quite smashing it.

The last game there apart from the friendly was an FA Cup game the following season.

It was indeed. I stand corrected.
