The National League is close to collapse. Is it time for the EFL to step in and create EFL 3? There are some teams with history and backing.  The way it has been run this season cries out for restructure.

It will recover like every other business once we are back to normal. There will be a balancing over the coming seasons, where some clubs will sink and some will rise I would guess.

They never should have started this season but there are teams in there still signing players and teams like Dover who have pulled the plug. Even at that level there are the haves and have nots.

It will carry on and we will be in it, so we need to take advantage while we can as one of the more solvent clubs.

Perhaps they need our money, if only for a season?

Weren’t Dover one of the teams that seemingly overspent when we were down there? Ironic really...

Interesting that these only become points for discussion when your team is on its bottom through nobody’s fault but it’s own.

Remember when even the club said it was time for 3 up and 3 down when we were in the conference....that never reared its ugly head again.

Isn’t suggesting the EFL come in and create a league using those clubs with history etc. Fundamentally what the arrogant giants of European football have just suggested, albeit lower sums of cash?

The National League Premier won’t be incorporated into the EFL unless the Championship break away and can’t see that happening in the short to medium term.

The current EFL tv deals run to 2024. Don’t be surprised if there isn’t a 1 year extension of that deal agreed at some point so that the EFL tv deal will expire at the same time as the Premier League’s 2022-25 deal that is about to go out to tender.

The reason being the PL might well cut out the middle man and abandon Sky & BT as broadcast partners at that point and set up their own Netflix/Prime type service. The EFL would then be able to sell some or all of their own rights to the Premier League to be included in their domestic service.
