Which is where I live now (and still get into trouble from the wife for calling it londonderry 🤦🏻♂️)!
It’s a beautiful place that has fought hard through everything but still has a lot of pride (and anger) over everything that has happened. There are still pockets of people that HATE the past, ironically a lot of young kids, but the majority don’t want to go back to the troubles.
Where were you stationed?
I did 2 years in Londonderry, 70/72, then three 5 month tours in Belfast, Portadown and Co Fermanagh. Met my wife to be there too.

I think its clear from watching him yesterday that he cannot play wide in a 442. He certainly isn't a winger in its truest sense.
Perhaps he can play wide at the top of a 3? Honestly, not sure if he's good enough although his attitude is creditable.

As the saying goes "put your money where your mouth is"..,felt for him yesterday to be honest, the lad obviously has so much self belief it's infectious but yesterday he looked like he was struggling. Think we all wanted to see him back himself and give Mansfield the right royal runaround unfortunately he just gave himself the runaround and got nowhere in a hurry. Truth is, as Casey Stoner once said about Valentino Rossi, maybe " his ambition outweighs his ability".

Reminds me a bit of what youth coaches have said about youngsters who have all the passion in the world for football but dont have the ability to make it professionally and have to release them at their end of scholarships. I think its why Christiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta and the Xavi Fernandez of this world do well. They have the ability and the passion but also have been blessed by excellent youth facilities/philosophy's eg at Barcelona which develop them. Iniesta has cited this for one as to why he was so successful in the game . Its incredibly tough to make it in the game and harder still to stay there. Like a pyramid. A few at the top and many more at the base.

My brother-in-law did two years in Ballykinler and two years in Thiepval (Lisburn). Always had to go to Garvaghy Road, Drumcree, every year.
