Don't talk rubbish!  I saw all our players giving 100%, still running to tackle back and trying hard for a winner.  You obviously can't count either, I saw several moves when we put half a dozen passes together, moving towards their goal.  I despair at a lot of the rubbish that people put on here, it's like they write anything just to have a go at our team.

As funny as your post is, making us sound like the good footballing side we are not, I actually meant going down without a fight in terms of not winning any matches and making it a competitive survival fight.

For me the positives and negatives were very similar to the past few games. Defensively we have looked much better last couple of games, centre backs without doubt the best partnership we have had all season. Just a shame it took this long for the partnership to become established. Hendrie looking good at right back again, still feel on form there are few better in this league. Clifton excellent at left back considering he is not left footed, from listening to Hurst post match yesterday and after Carlisle I get the feeling he likes Clifton and Hewitt, if not just for their versatility. If Hurst is in charge next season I would not be surprised if he offers new deals to these 2, their versatility in a far smaller squad could be vital, and I would have no issues with that at all. Thought Macca did well, good confidence booster, I think defensively we will be alright moving forward.

Obvious problem is creating chances. For as solid Metete and Coke are, they offer little going forwards. That means everything is left to the wingers. I feel Moralis has been poor last couple of games, doesn't seem to be finding his man, but that of course is to do with forwards as well. Lamy has done well but in reality we are leaving all our creativity to a 35 year old and a young player who hasn't played all season. Little wonder we are not creating much. We need to find other ways of getting other players involved in the attacks, maybe push full backs on, one of the central midfielders. We can't just leave it to the wingers. The front 2 are a handful and will score goals, I just feel the service needs to be better. However I am not sure what other options we have in terms of changing personal- Adams apart from one game has looked poor,  Williams has been woeful all season, Scannel is obviously not interested....I would say Wright, but is he going to get fit? It is difficult to see what other options we have and that is the biggest concern.

Where are those dodgy pens when you need them...we could do with a couple!!

We look like a relegated team already. We look like a team just going through the motions after the mathematical conclusion has already been reached.

I’d like to say that we look like a team fighting and busting blood vessels of effort to crawl back to mathematical safety, but we just don’t.

I like Hurst, but I’m not sure this sort of fight is his bag. I know he kept Shrewsbury up, but I recall he had a lot longer to do that and a better squad.

I think that at times like this, a club needs a massive motivator that can incite fight in every game. That kicks every ball. Someone that is animated on the touchline. I don’t see that sort of person in any of those three in the management and coaching team. If we don’t have this on the touchline then we won’t get it on the pitch. It’s all a bit tame. It’s at times like this that all of your coaching qualifications and technical stuff goes out of the window. Every minute of every game has to be played like a cup final or cup tie scrap. I’m just not seeing that sort of driving from the touchline.

We’ve got to become a horrible team to play against when we haven’t got the ball, and a combative bombarding team when we have got the ball.

Nil nil draws and losing the game by the odd goal in 1 or 2 is no good. It’s gotta be throwing players forwar and throwing the ball forward into the final third at every opportunity. We need to be going in search of 3 goals a game and scraping home with 2 goals against if we have to. Kevin Keegan style to draw a parallel. Because this tame and lame approach of unagressive football is getting us nowhere.

It’s scrap time, shock and awe time, and passion time and I don’t see we have that anywhere in the club

Was so painful to watch.

Players don't want to play for PH, they have no desire at all to put a shift in.

No one  willing to get hold of the ball, just constant lumps up to no one, flick ons when they are the last man. I dont know if its fitness or just laziness.

Clifton played well at full back though.

From what I've heard some players literally don't want to play for Hurst because they can't stand the bloke.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Bloody hell Phil. Cut and pasting your own posts! You’ve got to ask yourself why a club with a support in the upper end of the division constantly struggles, season after season, and spent six seasons struggling to get out of the division below.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Good job vast majority of them will be gone next season then and Hurst will hopefully have a proper recruitment/pre season to deal with.

If that's the truth I'm disgusted with them.

I can say with certainty there were players during his last tenure that didn't like his style, can be very arrogant and obtuse.
I will however say there were several players that looked up to him and would have run through brick walls him .
He's a divisive character, not just with squad but with the fan base too.
