What was all that injury time about ?

Around 10 minutes on FlashScore.

Walsall are on a really poor run of form.

A draw wouldn't be a disaster, a Walsall win would be a bonus.

We need to drag others in. If we get winning and keep winning, all will be fine. Big if, but possible.

This was always gonna happen tonight. Teams are struggling, and struggling worse than the bottom 3.

That was probably their best chance for a win. Their next 4 games including us will be more difficult so it's not over. A win for us tomorrow will put them 4 points ahead and we beat them and it's all to play for.

Interesting PP. Dover are not playing, clubs forced into debt to continue, no relegation. No integrity. It makes a good defence for any club being forced to relegate to that league. Hope we don't end up in that position.

Genuine question for those that have watched the game.....did Barrow create chances throughout the game ?

It's ok people saying we need to beat them, drag others in etc but we are creating 1 maybe 2 chances a game....you cant win many games like that and we are still then reliant on all the other teams virtually losing 2 or 3 weeks on the bounce while we dont.

I think the reality of our task is really stating to hit home  it's a very poor result for us Barrow according to stats created a lot more 7 shots  I was just thinking a point isn't a bad result  considering how poor walsall were/are  we all know when they play us they will play out of their skins

Generally speaking anything between £8 and £10 depending what's on offer. Naked wines (yes it's a co.) pointed out that anything under £8 is crap(my words). The reason being say £6/bottle £2 wine tax, 20% vat, supermarket profit, wholesaler profit, vineyard profit, bottle cost and transportation leaves little for the price of the wine. So they say the more you pay the better the quality.

My only exception is 1Les Tuguets Madiran Tesco £7/£6. I originally bought this as I read people who drink this type of wine live longer! I have found it to be palatable and not acidic. Having said all this I am not a wine cognisor, but from a very early age brought up on my nans home made wines.

According to the BBC Barrow had 4 shots on goal, chances ?

You have to remain positive of staying up. Football is a strange game with strange results at times. You have to keep on believing.

I can see where you are coming from but their are games to play and as I said we haven't had a run. I posted a while ago that the Barrow game is vital so their is no need to be down that much. We will have to see after that game what happens.

Where are the goals gonna come from? Unfortunately neither of the strikers have it in them
Hoping for a one nil and a nervy last ten in every game

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

I think the reality of our task is really stating to hit home  it's a very poor result for us Barrow according to stats created a lot more 7 shots  I was just thinking a point isn't a bad result  considering how poor walsall were/are  we all know when they play us they will play out of their skins

Every time somebody plays us we say that. But by the time we play them they could be on a right downer. So stay positive.

And therein lies our problem, teams don't have to "play out of their skins" to get anything from us.

Who say Pollock is our top scorer and he's not playing. I saw enough against Carlisle to suggest a' few' chances may come our way. Not bothered who puts the ball in the net as long as somebody does. Staying up.

I listened to LJL tonight and he didn't seem downcast. Carlisle was the best yet so we can be hopeful of more to come.

Sorry DB, for as much as I get to say it, your optimism is misplaced now, the writing is on the wall. We are facing the NL like it or not, regardless of what we do the team above us are pulling away, it's as simple as that.

Optimism is one thing. But you have to be realistic. We have taken 5 points from our last 11 games. Now we have to get 8 points more than Barrow from our remaining14 games.

It’s looking like we need 8 wins from 14 games to stand any chance. Even that may not be enough.

It’s not mathematically impossible. But let’s face it, highly unlikely. We have thrown too many points away since Holloway left ( we have taken just 6 points from 13 games. That’s 33 points lost.)

We are going down.

Only just checked Barrow score, fail to win tomorrow and we will be so cut off, could be interesting if our last game of season against Port Fale will keep one of us up, but cant see us getting 3 more wins than those above us.

I have been well and truly slated over several posts complaining about the inept performance of the man in the dugout, saying exactly what you have said. That said it's not over and we have to support the team. If you don't then surely the opposite is not being a supporter. I am not trying to be controversial, but realistic.

As a supporter I live in hope until the maths say otherwise.

The optimist in me says Colchester might be our best chance of swapping places with a team above to bottom 2 places.

If we beat them tomorrow and then win the game in hand we have over them, the gap would be down to 5 points.

BIG "if" I know. But can't bring myself to throw in the towel yet.

It's not yet mathematically certain that we are going down, but I think we have to face reality. It's not being disloyal to say that you expect us to go down. I have supported Town since 1971 through thick and thin (or thin and thin as Phil Ball once famously remarked!). I love the club. But I am a realist. Optimism is one thing, but to deny the inevitable in the face of all of the evidence to the contrary is delusional.

We might well win tomorrow. But it's too little too late. We have had at least six winnable games recently based on the poor form shown by our opponents going into the match. (Stevenage, Newport, Carlisle, Crawley, Orient, and FGR). They have yielded just 4 points. You could well add the Port Vale, Scunthorpe and Southend games to that list since the New year. We got just 1 point from those three games.

We are 8 points adrift of safety with 14 game left. We have earned 9 points from our last 14 games. Just don't see how we will suddenly start preforming like play off contenders..

I'm with you Ron but I started about 1958. Apart from the the maths I would ask every genuine supporter in good times and bad one question. When was the last time you went to BP and said, or heard, ' How many will we lose by'?

We go there to witness a victory. On here it is all so easy to be pessimistic behind a keyboard but face to face it's different. So that's where I'm coming from.

Has a feeling of inevitability about it doesn't it? Other teams seem capable of putting together a bit of a run and we just don't. Recently, we have had many winnable games against other struggling sides and we can't win them. We're just not good enough in both boxes and we also seem to be on the wrong end of every decision at the moment.

!4 games to go and we could still get out of it, but it's looking increasingly unlikely with every round of games.

The last time I watched a game at Walsall was the start of the season when we had a team than was hardly fit enough to stand up after 70 minutes. We were told at the time that it was down to Covid but we now now it was penny pinching by the board and rubbish management by Eric Bristow. The damage had already been done by that point which is worth remembering when apportioning blame for our plight.

Let’s just face it . A fresh start , top to bottom with real investment behind us and a new ground in the pipeline is probably for the best. If we don’t win today it’s virtually over and based on the second half of the season we deserve it tbh . We’ve been pathetic .

Hurst out .

Barrow are now a form team. Forget about them. Port Vale, Colchester and perhaps Walsall are in a tail spin.

Obviously if we lose today then I think that IS it. But win and there’s a chance.

The maths, we are due a win, they are on a bad run, we have games in hand.......Jesus.

We are the worst team in the League, we have consistently throughout the season, with either squad, failed to create chances, failed to score more than 1,failed to keep a clean sheet, hardly won a fking game.

We cant even manage to draw that many games.

Ohh and now we have a long injury list so some of the dross we have pushed to the back may well now be heading back into the first team.

The believers/hopers out there should get together and have a whip round to buy the film rights as if the miracle happens you will have a blockbuster on your hands.

Firstly we need to win today and then hope Stevenage beat Southend, if it’s the other way around we have an even bigger problem.

Then each game try and finish with a better result than Barrow (and Southend TBH) then ensure we beat Barrow.

Add to that stay injury free and no suspensions.

Personally I think we’ll fall short, I hope not but I just can’t see us improving to deliver the results we need or luck going our way.

It’s often said with 6 games to go sides who have the threat of relegation have “6 cup finals to play” I think the next 6 are our cup finals, if we don’t do well in these fixtures we’ve had it I think.

our coffin is so full of nails there can't be much space for any more!

You get the feeling it's almost inevitable that Southend will pull something out of the bag at Orient and we will be on the wrong end of some shiite decision or bit of luck this evening

That will be one hell of an achievement seeing as they are at home to Stevenage

I personally think we’ll go down, we’ve got too much to do, I’ve sort of accepted it (I’m not happy with it) I’m quite angry especially with us being in this situation before, we just haven’t learnt, it’s so frustrating.

This is the killer of hope isn’t it. Unless we suddenly click and hit  the form of a promotion contender we’re fooked

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

That is exactly right. We have been in his position before (twice if you include the season we got a reprieve thanks to Luton's 30 point deduction) and yet the idiots running the club just allowed it happen once again. I think the damage was done in the summer with poor recruitment suggestive of penny pinching, and lack of pre-season which was inexcusably amateurish.

We might have been able to rescue the situation with a large injection of quality in January, but it is clear that opportunity too was lost.

You pays your money, you takes your choice.

Tend to agree. Sometimes as in life a clean slate is required to start anew.

Indeed.

Despite my recent posts I am in fact very optimistic about the future. Just not about this season.

The biggest obstacle to our progression is about to depart. With new owners I really do believe we are in for some great seasons. I think we are going down this season, but I can well see us enjoying two, possible three promotions in the next five or six years.

No reason at all why we can be challenging at the top of L1. Imagine the scene, it's March 2026, we are sitting in our new 20,000 all seater stadium with 15,000 fans watching us secure three points which keep us in the automatic promotion places.

It's not impossible, it really isn't.

No thanks - we want at least the new Pontoon to be safe standing - our own mini version of the Borussia Dortmund "wall"... yes please to everything else, naturally...

I think its a shame how far this club have fallen from grace though. Like you I think at best league 1 is what we should be aiming for long term.

With the fans I agree. A lot of Grimsby fans are working class and appreciate a grafter. I still feel in comparison to some lower league clubs the history of this club makes it a bit special.

If this sale doesn’t go through I can see us sinking further. NLN and even further. With Fenty still in charge many will boycott the club, and we won’t even be able to compete.

Well, that's now 5 points from 7 very winnable games.  10 points from our last 15 games.

Yes, folks, we are well and truly fooked.
