Ahead of the match tomorrow, I won’t be watching but thought it would be worth starting a thread to clarify in terms of where the iFollow money goes.

Even if you buy via Oldham’s iFollow, I gather that the money from the first 500 passes bought via the away team’s iFollow goes to the home club (so in our case to John Fenty).

Anyone able to clarify that 100%?

That's correct the first 500 away fans money goes to the away side anything over that goes to the home side.

Best not to pay anything until Fenty is gone.

Hopefully it will not be long now.

I stopped buying the "Video Match Pass" last game and will continue to do so until things change.

Where's the "Listen Live" option (I've payed the £45) I can't find it?

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

But surely if you buy it through their site it won't register as an away team purchase.

Good point, if everyone went via Oldham then Town wouldn’t get a penny surely?

Getting mixed up. It's a home fixture. Was thinking it was an away fixture.

Best thing is just not to purchase at all.

i think that because you go via the oldham site you are automatically registered as an away follower. The revenue from the first 500 sales from Oldham go GTFC,once they have exceeded 500 sales the revenue then starts going to Oldham.
the other thing to bear in mind that we are one of the biggest sellers of ifollow, with about 1100 sales (?). but most teams will get over 500, so by buying via Oldham the money is more than likely to end up in the Latics' pockets rather than Fenty's

Surely there will be more than 500 Oldham fans buying it so any additional purchases by Town fans via their site will go to them and not Fenty
In any case it would send a powerful signal if there were very few purchases via Town’s site

I guess it’s a personal choice. I personally can’t bring myself to do it but perfectly reasonable to buy through the Oldham one as well.

Do the club not have any convicted fraudsters to entertain in the directors box tomorrow night?

I can’t either - I was just trying to clarify as there seemed to be some confusion.
I listened to the Morecambe game rather than watching it as I’ve already paid for the audio via the iFollow subscription.
I will probably do the same again tomorrow but if I can I will cancel my subscription if there is no sale in the next week.
It’s a very sad state of affairs we find ourselves in.

I won't pay to watch it. At all. Keeps it nice and clear. No percentage helps Fenty. No percentage helps the opposition. And I can earn some Brownie points by telling the missus I'd rather spend the evening with her  .

Could you give me a run down as to how iFollow works? I'm very surprised that you watch the match that way in the box with Fenty, but budgets are tight as we all know.

Why pay through Oldham’s site and give them £ ? Just boycott the game entirely.

Because GTFC has a very big fanbase for its size as a club, it always has and at times it doesn't deserve it.... I've sat for a bit I think, and actually, you're right. Stop any penny going into the club

Think a lot of people are tinkering round the edges here. My policy is that until the club has new owners in place GTFC does not exist. Don't pay for ifollow, not even listening through the GTFC ifollow although I've paid for the season. I'll be a passionate Mariners fan until I draw my last breath but it'll be the BBC website for odd updates at best.  It's slightly easier because the current incumbents have put together the worst town side in my living memory. Starve them of oxygen like they don't exist
Definitely don't respond to GTFC trolls attempting to divide fans!

Yes, but if we don't contribute, he has to. The club is run on fan money, the board input is zero, although they get to decide what to do with our money. The outcome of their decisions is continuous dire football and relegation battles. Stop feeding them. Starve em out.

Personally I’ve kept my money I would have used to one side. If and when a sale is completed I will give this to the club so not to have an impact on them - whilst fenty is involved though there won’t be another penny going from me to the club I’m afraid.

As fan’s we’ve already done more than our fair share. Buying season tickets knowing it’s unlikely we can use them, buying shares or donating to various fund raising activities.
