Watched this a while ago, realy good documentary. Looking forward to the Finding Jack Charlton documentary that comes out on the 23rd. The recent Bobby Robson documentary is good, too.

I watched this a while back too. It was very good. I never realised Andrés Escobar was such an accomplished defender (and person) and on the verge of a transfer to AC Milan, until he was murdered.
Great footage of Colombia’s 5-0 thrashing of Argentina in qualifying for the ‘94 WC.

I know most Fishies won’t like El Diez, but Asif Kapadia’s 2019 doc on Diego Maradona was brilliant too.
Maradona obviously has many faults but his behaviour and persona was a cover for a scared and flawed genius.
The footage of him doing kick-ups, boot laces undone, whilst moving to the rhythm of ‘Live Is Life’ by Opus is unbelievable. Oversized Mars Napoli cagoul, pinched in at the waist, like the drawstringed trousers of something out of Last of The Summer Wine

Saw this a few years ago but will probably give it another watch as it's a really great documentary. I had money on Colombia to win USA 94 and remember them being heavily fancied, especially after smashing Argentina in qualifying and having a proper exciting team at the time with the likes of Escobar, Asprilla, Valderama, Rincon, Higuita etc. Obviously it ended in tragic failure. I never knew about the strong influence Pablo Escobar had on the national side and the country as a whole until watching this.

The Storyville documentary on OJ Simpson Made in America, (also available on iPlayer) is bloody marvellous. Its long (four episodes I think) but I can't recommended it highly enough, even jf you hate NFL.
Fantastic contributors, footage and insight into the causes and aftermath of the LA riots - and how it affected OJ's trial _ how he was later ostracised (and rightly so) after being acquitted and how he finally got his comeuppance.
Mad how OJ had the LAPD in his pocket. They fawned over him and his sleb status, despite his wife making various emergency calls as a result of his violent behaviour, which ultimately led to her death.
I could bore on about it more but won't!
I'll give The 2 Escobars a whirl.

Saw this at the cinema and loved it. The opening scene with the footage of him being driven, along with police escort, to Napoli's stadium to meet the fans for the first time is incredible. Like a modern day gladiator. You could tell he was shitting himself, who wouldn't, as he's being mobbed by thousands of ecstatic fans. Amazing that he was getting coked up, whoring, and clubbing virtually every night and still managed to lead Napoli, the then perennial underdogs and butt of many a joke, to the title, against all the odds, and then did it again! He was chewed up and spat out by Napoli and the Neapolitan mafia. Just think what could have been had Ivano been given the VIP treatment at the Bag's Ball, the Kingsway, the Pea Bung and Nicole's...

When you see the effects that fame, money and adulation had on the likes of OJ and Maradona, it’s a wonder that Ashley Fickling managed to stay so grounded

Where was the Bobby Robson doc?
It's on Netflix at the mo. Gabriel Clarke involved, same as the Jack Charlton doc (no Andy Townsend involvement in this one though).
