What exactly do our lads do during the week? They can't do throw-ins (something Ollie has alluded to), the corners are rubbish and the passing is dismal. When we try to go square it goes behind the player. By the time the recipient has adjusted his feet, he's under pressure.
This is the point. They don’t have enough time. They can’t work on things. There isn’t time. The season is a joke. Sky and the prem have screwed us on the promise of funding. We only started cos they said they would help our funding. We maybe locking down soon. Our club has set a budget that has survival as the primary purpose. We have therefore scraped a new squad together. This is the most important thing. Survival. To say our players and Holloway aren’t trying, or wasting time in training is out of order. We get back late tonight. Recovery session tomorrow. Then one day of training on Monday before barrow on Tuesday. You have one day ..... What do you do? Work on your team philosophy. Focus on the opposition. Work on set pieces like you say. Fitness ???? Whilst also Not over working the players as they are playing the next day? You then play Tuesday. You finish late Tuesday. Wednesday recovery day. You then have Thursday to train. A lighter session Friday. Game Saturday. REPEAT. what the intercourse do you expect our lads to do. This is ontop of us having 2 weeks less development than every other team due to covid. Serious question. What do you want them to do. What do you want them to do in their one day of training before the next match. ????

If we have so little training time, then why do we make such mass changes so often? Have we ever played remotely the same team in two games?

A really poor Stevenage side could have won that 3/4-0. Too many players look out of place in league 2, our subs bar Hanson changed nothing. Worrying

The lack of pre season was the club's choice tho so it's not all out of our hands. Some of it is self inflicted.
Every other team is also dealing with the 2 matches a week scenario so we are not special in that regard. Is the constant chopping and changing happening at other clubs - I don't know

The shortened pre season was self inflicted and we can moan about training all we want but everyone else is managing...I guess it works for us though, blame someone or something else to detract from the real concerns...

I think half the problem is that, injuries apart, Holloway is making needless changes as he tries to select a team every week to suit/counter the opposition.
He's getting it wrong too many times, perhaps he doesn't know as much as he thinks he does (the ball doesn't have laces anymore Ollie) or he is not reading the opposition correctly (possibly he doesn't have the time he needs to devote to watching them) but he should stick as closely as he can to the same team every week especially after two cracking results v Cheltenham and the Orient.

Remember when Jolley and Hurst were criticised for matching up against the opposition and worrying about stopping them rather than playing our own way?
I guess we’ll never know but I wonder if the crowd would be restless as would be expected in our current form?

Does not matter how he changes it . in reality we have a team that is not much better than an average lg2 reserve team . This will not alter because money is short , and what we have got in is too many either far too young or has no experiance of league football, So all we have got is a weak team . What we have so far is relagation form what ever way you look at it points wise . fortunatly there are teams that are worse than us up to now ......

Quite often but not always things that Ipswin says do make sense.
