Definition of project.....

Simply put, a project is a series of tasks that need to be completed in order to reach a specific outcome. A project can also be defined as a set of inputs and outputs required to achieve a particular goal. Projects can range from simple to complex and can be managed by one person or a hundred.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

It's the 'Grimsby Town project' Holloway has been wobbling on about since he arrived, he's obviously given it large to Williams to persuade him to come to BP

It was the buzz word in lower league football. About 5 years ago.

Usually used when non league nobodies get a new owner.

It is the direct opposite of how the club has been run for the past decade or two.

Some might mock the idea of a strategic project but it is vitally important to attract some players, assuming we pay enough to get them interested in the first place.

Holloway wants a project so he can leave a legacy. The first part is to get some much needed success on the field so that other things follow. We need to get on a roll and it could be amazing what might be achieved.

I wonder if Holloway and the playing staff have informed the bird of the project...listening to Day throughout lockdown would suggest their happy plodding...

I agree we should give the board the bird for sure!

I would imagine Holloway is looking beyond the constraints of the current board in the future.

Every club had a 'project' about five years ago.

I wonder how many of them have actually achieved their aims?

Reminds me of another term that's often rolled out in cup competitions when a big club is said to be fielding 'a strong' side, when the reality is that it's a weak side.

If we played Liverpool in the cup and someone said they were fielding a strong side, you'd guarantee to see at least four or five kids in the starting line-up.

If you're not starting with your strongest starting XI then by definition you've got to call it a weaker side.
