Every man tonight outstanding but special mention to Harvey cartwright,  he was immense. His presence handling and kicking were on the mark tonight and he showed he can be a number 1.

Great support from the fans too . Great night and the team showed tonight they do care and I'm proud tonight.

Definitely having 5 across the back gives him more protection and his confidence has grown because of this.

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

Harvey is a town fan and a really good kid. I’ve known him since he was a nipper.  I’m pleased for him. There’s more to come and hopefully it’s not in a green shirt.

Harvey done great, but it was an awful game on the eye.

Pleased he’s started to catch the ball, shone in a very poor game. 👍👍👍

Great point.

That may well have been the case actually.. I don’t believe that tag applies to Eastward BTW.

Harvey was exceptional last night, a couple of fingertip saves were excellent, and he was so commanding and confident when coming to collect crosses. I’ve been quietly critical of him lately because I’ve said that I never feel like he’s going to save a shot, like the confidence that early McKeown and Crocombe gave you. Even if a player got a shot off, you knew they had a chance of saving it, I’ve not had that feeling with Harvey yet, but he proved me wrong last night, and hopefully goes on to become better than those aforementioned keepers.

My thinking hasn't changed - the lad will play a lot higher than league 2 ,he's a young pup for a keeper and has all the attributes  .

Massive strength of character to come through this tough spell that the team has had , my only worry was that his confidence would have been hit badly after shipping so many goals but he's looking more and more commanding as the team seemingly do in general .

Best game for town by a country mile. Commanding, composed and a couple of excellent saves. It’ll do his confidence the world of good.

Chuffed for him, the lad is really living the dream.

However - I’m still not entirely sure my him at this stage. Admittedly, this could purely be because he’s a 21 yo keeper.

Hopefully he kicks on, everyone wants to see “our own” representing the shirt.

In his defence, in the rout of goals we've conceded in 2024, I don't think Cartwright has had a chance with most of them. Too many good finishes stuck in the corner of the goal when no keeper would have got near them.

Pleased to hear he did well last night as confidence is especially important in a keeper.

Zero to Hero. Cartwright was brilliant last night, compared to the flak he got on here after the FGR game. Something like stood on his line, didn't move etc. He looks to be a good keeper in the making and we should appreciate his talents.

Did well. He's been inconsistent this season due to his inexperience.
I'd like to see us try and get him permanently, I know Hull rate him but he isn't playing in the championship any time soon.
For us though, I think he will be confident at the level next season and his potential to improve is massive. He could end up being worth a few quid.

Harvey is fourth in line at City, and their oldest keeper currently is 31 I believe so there's pretty much zero chance he's going to break through there in the next 3-5 years.
I would hazard a guess that if we retain our EFL status there's a good possibility we could strike a deal with Hull, maybe with a buy back clause if he keeps going on the ight trajectory.

How he hasn't been booked in either of the last two games is beyond me. Well, actually it is not as the refs are pretty useless at sorting that kind of thing out. I bloody hate all of the timewasting that is just accepted now. Pleased we competing on that front I suppose, actually it's an odd feeling to be in a position to be able to do it.

Confidence is such an important thing for goalkeepers and hopefully he can really push on now. Seems a nice lad and you can see how much it means to him. Seemed to be getting stronger and stronger throughout the Wimbledon game, apart from that one near the end which could've been a disaster. Another clean sheet on Saturday and he will really be on a roll, the whole team will.

Wasn’t aware of that, I just assumed he was an ‘Ull fan cause he was in their academy. Did he start off at Town as a youth?

Can’t see Hull letting him go easily, they know his potential and he signed a new 4 year contract last summer. They will want another loan deal, possibly at a higher level.

Maybe but will a team at a level higher trust him in goal as first choice? If not then he will be basically " bench warming " which won't help his development.

Lads looking better every game, would really like to see him here for a bit longer even if it was another year on loan.

Clearly he’s now emulating Max with his second half performances 😉

Harvey is obviously learning tbe "Crocombe cramps" move around the 70 minutes mark.

Seriously, kicking and distribution getting better, less of the stupid cross 6 yardbox passing now, just needs to know when defenders want him to come out to gather / smother.

Yes, he is still only 21, and we are paying him to learn in a 1st team situation, but I have seen far worse than him in goal for us, Eastwood being a prime example currently.

I believe that he will be good enough to finish the season and help to keep us up.

It also depends on the defenders doing their work and continuing to attain clean sheets, especially with a tough 4 fixtures now lined up.

Well to be fair the stupid passing across the 6 yard box prattery was hardly his decision, he was clearly acting under Artell's instructions

Agreed but 'keepers and defenders should make individual decisions when it's safe to pass across the back and when to punt it forward.

Yeah but as people pointed out on here, that time a few games ago Cartwright started to not do the 6 yard box passing bollox Artell went ballistic at him and after half time it was back to it. I totally agree with you but as a player, esp a young player on loan, you have to follow your managers instructions so when he says the 6 yard box passing will be done every time without fail it doesn't leave you much room for manoeuvre.

Obviously Artell has finally been forced to concede due to pressure of results/league position/players/coaching staff/owners/fans, but has he really, truly, learned? Yet to be proven.

Watched "all town aren't we" last night, and there, in the crowd at the Wrexham game was Harvey...he's obviously got town in his blood, so to see him succeed with us is fantastic for him personally and, if he keeps improving as he is, fantastic for us too

He’ll be back to it next season. How long it lasts will depend on how calamitous it is
