To be honest all their chances came from mistakes further up the field that put the defence under pressure. Waterfall gave the ball away for the second but he's going to be beaten for pace and shouldn't have been put in that position for their first goal. Things just became sloppy after we scored and too many wasted chances then the first chance they get to pounce on a mistake they counter fast and get behind Waterfall.

This is the most spineless performance I've seen from a Town side in a long time. We were the better team before Waterfall got minced (I think he's finished at this level unfortunately) and then we completely folded. Some players look like they've thrown in the towel. I don't think we're a particularly bad side but some, especially at the back, need a big shake-up.

I think the biggest worry is the absolute lack of balls amongst them. And this removes the idea that Waterfall’s “leadership” negates the negatives in playing him. But every time we start playing badly they crumple which when we’re not very good anyway is alarming.

First things first, at least two centre backs in. If we can find a full back available who’s better than we have (not hard) then get them too.

The disappointing thing for me is we’ve spunked FA Cup money on some of these players, and we’ve ended up with a group of players who are comfortably worse than last season’s, not only those we’ve paid fees for players who are worse than players we’ve released. Sad thing is the as the summer window dragged on there was clearly some names through the door who maybe weren’t the first names on the list.

Either way Artell is going to have his work cut in the next couple of windows. I can’t see us going down this year, but it’s well and truly a right off.

Some of the comments are comical. We was opening up a Walsall side that are the most inform team in the division for fun for 40 minutes. Individual errors and we've copitulated. There's a reason we are where we are and it's been said before that these players are not good enough nor are they consistent enough to deliver what Artell wants. Ben and Shaun steadied the ship and we could all see that we weren’t too bad but these 2 performances against Mansfield and Walsall are WEAK , ok for 40 mins doesn’t cut it against a good side . We could easily have conceded 6 against Mansfield. We have got this 100% wrong. We present the easiest challenge to play against in the division. Salford didn't do their homework but everyone else will. And supposedly this is the Grimsby Way lol.

No point DA going up the ref moaning about the pen we shipped in 6 soft excrement goals from poor defending.
How about DA comes out in the interview and tell us what we want to hear no cover up BS lip service. Call out some players and dish out some P45s and bring in some players that can play for 90 minutes.

The first 40 minutes proved that we can play good football, it was individual errors that cost us in this game, and at 3-1 down we gave up, which is not good enough.  That is NOT David Artells fault, the players let him down and should be ashamed for the way they capitulated.

Even at 3 - 1 I wasn't worried.  The penalty that we didn't get led to the one that did.  That was the death blow.

Maybe not but haven’t we got a deal worse yet under the new boss. Bar Salford who weren’t at the races and let us play the writings on the wall if the not new owners don’t stump up some cash.

They weren't worried the last time we were staring at relegation



Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong  
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

The BBC have it that they only had 34% possession .

How many would they have scored if we gave them the ball more often.?
