It is such an obvious proposition it is amazing any manager would think otherwise. Unless you can maximise your own strengths then the opposition will always have a good chance against you whether they are particularly good or not.

I've never managed at a high level but I never understand why some manager concentrated so much on the opponents. Yes do your homework on them and pick out targets and areas they look to threaten but ultimately its about you.

I had a manager that sent me spying on what customers entered their premises and where they delivered to first thing in a morning. Weird behaviour.
