The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. I usually stay clear of pre season, but do remember us playing (and beating) Hesrts 2-0, and I reckon it was 1997. We also beat Aberdeen 2-1, I reckon. I do remember Jack Lester getting hauled off by Buckley in that one really early as he slapped one of their defenders across the face! I think the ref told him to get him off or else it’s a red - wouldn’t get that treatment nowadays, even in pre season. We also played Dundee when Ivano was their manager.
