"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Man City v Spurs ref Simon Hooper.

Having waved play on for a foul on Haaland, Hooper halted the game after a pass by the Norwegian had put Grealish in behind the Spurs defence.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Whoever was in the stands at Oxford shouting "FORWARD TOWN, KICK IT LONG" every time we had possession. That's not the way we'll be playing at Artell, best to get used to it!

He was very close to being offside , would like to see some lines , maybe it would end the controversy

Yeah, I thought that too. My initial reaction was to call offside!

To be fair, Chalky, after seeing the goals at the weekend I’d blame the kit man for not bringing long enough studs!

The defenders are already stationary most of the time, securing them to the pitch won’t help tbh

Terrible officiating would be giving a foul the other way. The ref has given the foul correctly but probably couldn’t/didn’t see Grealish on the end of the ball forward. It’s an error rather than the war crime it’s been made out to be by City.

I’ll gladly moan about crap reffing (especially VAR decisions where they’ve had multiple angles and still come out with the wrong result: e.g. PSG penalty last week) but erroneous ones like that on Sunday are forgiveable given the speed at which they have to make the calls.

Ahh rubbish, he blows the whistle at the point Grealish is through on goal, its horrendously poor officiating and you know full well if it happened against us, you'd be up in arms

I think you can just put the decision down to human error, and those opposed to VAR have said they can live with the odd gaffe from a ref as it evens out over the season.

The reaction of the big babies on the pitch was more horrendous than the genuine mistake by the ref.

Also the view you get on TV (essentially a Birds Eye view) is totally different to the one you get on the ground in amongst it. The game looks different in the upper compared with the main stand for example. Passing angles, positioning and depth perception are seemingly and markedly different.
I think it would help to have the refs view to show what he saw to highlight the difference between the two. It was a poor call undoubtedly but I think we could try and understand it better.
