I know it has been mentioned before that Pete Bore is now a policeman, but I have just been sent a list of our local police team; and I look forward to hopefully meeting up with him.

Do you think he's been to BP in an official capacity?

Good on him . Hope he does the force pride. I know some police in the past have abused their authority and it happens nowadays but there are good ones . Reading some story's about the bravery certain police and army go through have to say respect to such individuals. A woman pc I was reading about  last year got seriously cut up with a knife in trying to apprehend someone dangerous who had committed a serious felony and we're responding from a call from the public.  Despite her injuries she hung on to the attacker until back up arrived . Think that bravery would not be shown by some males .

Think the numbers in the police  are due to cuts by the government. I know soldiers in Afghanistan had similar problems. Weapons outdated or not working properly and in need of more armoured machines which would of saved more lives out there. At times lads were going on patrol  and  Taliban had planted  IEDs with lives being lost sadly as vehicles they were in didn't have the necessary protection .

The British Ministry of Defence has confirmed it will cut troop numbers from 82,000 to 73,000 by 2025. I didn't serve in Afghan but it is well known that the Taliban used 'daisy chain' IED's which when one was stepped/driven on, all of them would go off at the same time, there were usually 3-4 IED's in a daisy chain.  As for vehicle protection, the Talibans answer to upgraded armoured vehicles was simple, they made bigger IED's, some which literally lifted those vehicles 10-15 feet in the air.

Reminds me of Bore playing right back in 09/10, having to play alongside Linwood and Stirling.

Thanks for the information Bear. What still gets me is when you read accounts though of  what lads have had to go through out there especially soldiers and families dealing with the aftermath . Young men on patrol and then the next there not here no more after being blown up by an IED. Other soldiers who have known these lads then have to pick the mashed up body parts intermingled with sand and grit and put them in body bags which cuts them up some more than others . Compared to some of the jobs some do here eg office work and the like this is another level in terms of physical and emotional distress .

Are you going to advise us which crime you intend to commit? Aggressive posting on The Fishy, nobbling an away player outside BP, Chanting 'We are the Champions', food poisoning the away team staying at the Humber Royal and others( or whatever it called these days) say no more.
