Words fail. Not taking chances. Lack of confidence. Hole. PH looks like rabbit in headlights tbh. Fair way to but this pattern must be broken and I don’t see it coming from the squad. PH this is where you earn your money

Remember we just played a team above us and matched them but for an odd goal, as good as you get-or does this not work as an excuse any more

This is 100% on the owners, it was obvious after the Accrington game he should go but they’ve dragged it on for another 3 losses. I’m not even convinced he’ll go now either which is massively concerning.
We’re in a relegation scrap, make no bones about it.

I haven't commented in a while as I can't quite stomach being in this situation again. How on Earth has this happened? Good owners, solid manager, relative stability; all the things we thought we needed.
I'm starting to wonder if our ceiling is now midtable League 2 without significant investment, which hasn't been delivered by 1878 yet (I know they're trying to).

Thought defensively we looked pretty much OK, albeit against a bang average side.
It's further forward where we had nothing at all. Just lots of running and determination.
Would be interested to know the reasoning behind keeping a poor Eisa on the pitch with Gnahoua sat again on the bench. Genuinely unsure what Arthur has done wrong of late.
It's the end of the road though. If we don't bite the bullet now we're only heading one way. All but Tranmere of the teams around us picking up 3 points. 4 points off the relegation spots. If 1878 delay this any further it's just cruel all round.

We look like a relegation team unfortunately. Even with a manager change I can’t see things changing . We must operate within our means and Bp is one hell of a money pit now . Basically BP will look loads better and the team has been neglected again . It’s never going to get better than this unfortunately unless we get an Arab in charge . An FACup qt final and record season tickets and we still look crap because let’s be honest we were poor at home last season .

Decided not to go today. Crap weather. Two crap sides
Sounds like we were not awful, just bad.
I’d give PH and the team next Sunday to reenergise in the FA Cup at Slough. If they lose or play badly, PH has to go.
If they win in FA cup I’d give PH two more games. Then no excuses.

No words left to describe this. This team must now have conjured up every possible way give away a goal/lose a game. Two poor teams. 0-0 all over it but nope.
Footballing-wise we did ok mostly. Much better passing but mostly into dead ends, meaning we really need to get something from set pieces. Ah...
Set pieces - abysmal. Seconds left to salvage a point and Eisa lumps it straight to the keeper. Not a prayer of scoring from a corner either. The opposition? Sure, stroke your corner kicks to the edge of the box, smack in a shot, we mark up at corners like an under 10's team. Credit to Cartwright for that save from that corner, feel for him as he did little wrong and should be proudly looking at a clean sheet for his debut.
I'm not gonna get angry, I won't name call and I won't demand Hurst's sacking by Sunday night or whatever but I believe he should go, not for today's defeat but for the whole picture, for all the stats, for all the points I made above. We've been very unlucky in some of those games but the table doesn't lie. 3 wins from 16. And at the end of the day all those wayward set pieces in every game, all that falling asleep and conceding, all the conceded possession from the terrible final pass and all those games where we failed to get a shot on target is down to the coaching, or lack of. It's not a matter of Hurst Out! It's just time for the next phase, let's get it done and stop this before we are in that old familiar territory we thought we'd left behind, that of stagnation. Forever Up the Mariners

If the lads are not at the races I will whip em , but I ain't whipping them for that tonight . They gave everything .
A lapse of concentration cost yet again .
Hurst properly reverted to type and It should have worked , they were poor, very poor - that one that rolled along the line maybe signified the end for PH , it would have gone in on any other occasion .
Running out of time , getting closer to the drop line , where next for Grimsby Town ? How do we get out of it ?

6 mins of front foot football at the start of the game .....rest of the game we were terrible in possession, players are not technically good enough , system changes and player roles changes every week....same result....minimal threat...no points. His players, his formations, his systems, his subs...his P45 I am afraid.

Holohan is our main attacking threat…No offence to Gav because I really like him but I’m pretty sure that at the start of the season he and Hurst had determined he would be a squad player this season. Hurst has absolutely run out of ideas and these last two games have just been a random collection of selections and (lack of) subs. It’s really, really painful and simply hoping things will improve, when there is next to zero signs of that showing, would be dangerous and stupid frankly.

Sorry Ilkley, just can't believe Eisa remained on the pitch. Arhur should have been given 25 min at least. Sad but Hurst doesn't see the same game. Bringing another central player on wasn't the way to improve the supply.
We have no pace, power or guile. The crowd applauded the effort but our creativity is the key.
Edit. Radio H announce PH sacked.

Even given his desire to save games by big defences, the attacking side, along with strange formations, and numerous long term injuries, and a desire not to put on fresh legs when needed, have all combined to be Hurst's downfall.
So, who can now motivate the existing players back into winning mode prior to the January transfer window when new blood is definitely needed !!
Why have so many players suddenly lost form, or become players who play like strangers who have never met or trained together ???
Why is it so hard to be a good passer and trapper of the ball?

There's an inevitability in football management that eventually your time runs out. 95% of managers will get the sack at some point, and I'm afraid it was Paul Hurst's time. It just stopped happening for him and he couldn't get out of it. Thanks Paul and Chris, you can leave with your heads held high, especially last seasons cup run Now looking for a new management team to take us forward, interesting times ahead.

Shout out Cartwright, looked assured on his league debut, kicking was a massive improvement and stayed in touch. Wasn’t too far away from the penalty, claimed his crosses.

Yep, gotta say this after thinking he was dreadful, Cartwright is an upgrade on Eastwood, absolutely outstanding save halfway through the second half and his kicking was pretty good all game tbh. I'm still convinced we have a squad that can play better, just think Hurst knew the song, but had the notes in the wrong order. It'll be interesting to see how a new manager assesses this squad, how he sets up with who and where...and how long before we are huffing n puffing and calling him a clown🤣

Interesting to see you think my 'backing' of PH is defending him. If Holohan had scored and not conceded a penalty, we would have won, and no one can deny we were the better side on the day. Small swings like that decide games, and in PHs case, him his job. I am a GTFC supporter and have supported them for 72 years, so I will now thank Paul for his time at the club, and some fantastic memories that I will never forget and move my allegiance to our next manager and back him to the hilt. That's what fans do.
