Having just read the Swindon thread about their £27 ticket price I just wondered just how much, on average, our travelling fans pay for an away day. Ticket price, programme, travelling cost (be it train, airfare, petrol, coach ) food and drink ( at the match, in the pub, service station etc.) and accommodation.

Ticket average £20
Train average £40
Food / drink average £30
Programme average £3
Scratch cards £10 (a rule if we go by train)

Varies as some trains will be double and some (ie brighton) I'd stay for the weekend. But on average I'd say easy over £90

Don't really care. If I can afford it and I am off work I will go because watching Town away is PRICELESS

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

Don't get to many but enjoy it when I do.  Can't do it anymore now.

I will pay for the petrol and my granddaughters tickets as well as my own so over £100.

I kept a record of this in 21/22 and it averaged out at around £85 an away trip for me. Trains and boozing obviously drive it up a ridiculous amount. I'm off the booze now and will be driving to more games once I've bought a car this season, but I took the train to Notts away from Kent and that was £71 alone. For every cheapo away day like Woking or Orient as a South Eastern exile you're gonna be dropping top dollar for anywhere up North. I tend to draw the line at triple figures for transport and as such I won't be at Wrexham this weekend but I've had a few £90+ trains in recent seasons (Torquay first match for me after COVID, Alty same season which I didn't get to because my gf got taken to hospital and the Wrexham semi). However you do occasionally get a nice pleasant surprise as your wincing in expectation at the Trainline app...Newport for example is about an hour and a half on the train from Paddington and Solihull on a whim was £30 return bought the week before.
