The club seemed to have kept this one quiet (or perhaps it has replaced the game against Al Ain), but Town are currently playing Qatar SC at our base in Spain. Town 1-0 down at half-time, in conditions better suited to native Qatari’s than those used to playing their football on the English east coast.

No idea who’s playing for Qatar SC, but their squad includes former World Cup winner Javi Martinez.

Lost 1-0. Enjoy some air con tonight, lads - it’s 44°C for training tomorrow. 🥵

I’m not sure if it’s their National team but if it is they won  the Asia cup.
I watched a couple of games in Abu Dhbai in 2019 .
All the Emiratis was complaining as the Qatari  team was full of ringers 😂

It’s not. It’s Qatar Sports Club, a domestic side. I don’t think any of their current players played at the WC, but still, it’s a friendly in conditions better suited to the opposition at the end of the day. A useful fitness exercise if nothing else.

This will stand us in good stead for that freezing cold Tuesday night in February at Colchester.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Sport-washing!

Disappointing to have conceded from a corner, but you'd imagine they'll be a reasonable side. A few current and former internationals in their squad.

I bet our lot are knackered after playing in those conditions.

It can’t be anywhere near as hot as Rochdale away last season.

Even Dave Moore was slathered in Piz.

That reminds me, where is Dave Moore? I don't recall seeing him at either the Clee Town or Borough friendly? Maybe he just blended in because everyone was wearing shorts!
