Poor Orsi, it’s certainly not recent performances that are keeping Taylor in & him out, so I’m not entirely sure what it is

I suspect Taylor has been given an audition for next year, just like Gallagher & Morris.

As much as I like Taylor I think, because of his age, his time is now up. He will more than likely have success in the NL but the riggers of League 2 is too much for him, particularly his mobility.

Watching this on TV Woeful from Town, absolutely clueless formation, add the strange line up, this doesn’t bode well for a favourable result today.

You'd think lessons were learned about leaving the midfield empty from the last home game but apparently no.

This is fukin excrement at the moment. Smith 4 passes all to Mansfield players ffs
|
| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

20 mins gone and the good news is we're drawing 0-0. Efete has a yellow and the Mansfield fans are out singing the entire town fans, not there's much for Town fans to cheer about according to JT

Trying to think what this reminds me of. Oh yes that's it. In 2004, a bunch of Sri Lankan lads applied to go to the Handball World Championships. Their plan was to do a runner once they arrived. When they arrived, they were chaperoned everywhere. Before they knew it they were out on the court. The big problem was that they'd never played handball in their life.

Not good fair in general again so far i am going back to big rebuild mode again with this first half .
They are no great shakes really are they, both teams looked a lot better at their place ;they looked a good footballing side .
Is our pitch just not suited to good football?
Hopefully the lads turn it around second half

You can't really blame Crocombe for being poor the last few weeks, just look at the constant pressure he's under with quality of defending the urine poor 10 players in front of him keep doing. The bloke can only do so much

On the run of normal play, I'd agree with you. However, when you compare his game now to pre Christmas there is a vast difference with him, whether it's overconfidence or arrogance I don't know but somewhere he has a problem.

And again, too slow, poor passing, lousy marking, short goal kicks that put the players under immediate pressure, their players bullying ours yet again, poor formation and tactics, with Taylor anonymous up front !!
Why is it so bad at home??
Are we not good enough to.play attacking football?
Plus another one sided official ??
Have we abandoned midfield at home ??
Poor show !!
Get subs on that will run and challenge - the fans are owed that for consistently paying out for home AND away games throughout the season !!

His kicking has never been his strong point anyway. Defence has been a shambles, if he wasn't good at claiming balls in the air we'd probably be much worse off all season.

We've coached that out of him. Same with Macca, Macca was a much better kicker at the start of his Grimsby career then when he left

They didn't even have to work for that goal, we just gifted it to them. Too easy to cross the ball in, too weak from Gallacher letting his man beat him to the ball and then inept keeping from Crocombe letting a weak shot go through his hands. We can't even do the basics, it's depressing.

So to leave the players alone for a bit, and have a word about JT. Does he actually realise that his commentary is going out live on the TV stream as well as on radio. Every week he comes out with the same old clichés, his favourite is, "they are two on one", when clearly they are not. Also I have forgotten how many times he has commented on a supposed gap, also he is a very negative commentator. I wonder if he will ask PH after the match about the gap?

Taylor's last two first halves are far from the required standard. Doesn't move and can't win aerial duels anymore. I'd be shocked if he was here next season but Orsi will be, at least as things stand

Could be all part of the ‘cunning plan’ to show that money should be made available for better players next season. The risk to Paul is that the directors don’t rumble him. Anyway, well happy overall at Towns position compared to last year. Sorry that the paying fans have only seen 4 home league wins this season. Hopefully, the entertainment will come next season - along with some more Cup success UTM

The difference is that Hurst likes Taylor. I think this season has debunked the myth about keeping a playoff winning squad mostly together being best as the squad hasn't ever quite found their rhythm in L2 even with additions to it with some experience. It was what the fans wanted but what the fans want is often not correct. I'm still not particularly convinced about Orsi who has just got into cup games by default where we have nothing to lose and took advantage of risks but in league games he's often not impressed me but Hurst does seem to like these boring and slow forwards. His fascination with Taylor is like his fascination with Vernon while playing Jackson out wide which wasn't his position.

Much better second half
At least we could understand what they were trying to do 2nd half, 1st half was so poor as we had no formation and absolutely no idea how what we were doing.

| Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 ) |

Much better 2nd half George always seems to be alive to what's happening and we need to push the boat out to get him to replace McAtee. Why can we only play well in one half. Re Tondeurs it's 2 on 1 he is usually right it is so easy to overload us out wide whatever formation we use

Missed the game today but just thought id say from an objective point of view, knowing nothing about the way we played, for a mid table team with nothing to play for to hold out for a draw against a team battling to keep its playoff place, seems like a really good result

We need a new keeper if we're going anywhere next season.

| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

It is not a good selling point is it , £70+ per home win if you have a season ticket , probably more if you are a walk up regular . I will be getting one next season as i just enjoy the craic , and a few beers + hoping we win . But i get why people who buy to see wins would consider not doing (the guy next to me expects a lot more as the home team ) Suprised we have such great home crowds ,now i actually wonder even more IF we ever we ever actually do well what the demand would be .

Todays gate was about 7,000, less 1,200 away fans which gives a home attendance of 5,800. The same figure as ST's so I wonder how many walk ins were there today and how many ST's didn't turn up.

About 900 for both I’d estimate. Have we a ticket offer on for Barrow - away fans are in the corner.

Todays gate was about 7,000, less 1,200 away fans which gives a home attendance of 5,800. The same figure as ST's so I wonder how many walk ins were there today and how many ST's didn't turn up.
There is loads mate in lower where i am about 10 reserved stickers but very rarely there . Loads in the ponny to it looks like ,maybe some of them just sit or stand where they want though, I actually over ran in the lower bar today at half time and it was pretty rammed in there ,so maybe some just stay in there and get a few down and watch it on the stripey TV .

Yeah I'm the troll and it can't be the person with double digget red crosses and zero green ticks supportive whos in the wrong... yeah that must be it
I have never looked at the crosses, that's something for the kids. All you do is find a thread to moan about, and for that reason, in the words of Dragons Den, I'm out, and you're BLOCKED!
